Framerate Issues Since Dawntrail Launch

I am glad to find out that the problem is widespread. I tried several troubleshooting methods, but nothing worked. Mind you, I have a very good rig.

I have the same issue. Before DT I always had 100+ fps with max settings, my fps since the expansion release has been sub 40. Nothing is bottle necked and I have tried so many "fixes". Nothing seems to do anything.

Before the maintenance on July 6, everything was fine (no freezes, smooth graphics, constant 120 fps). After the maintenance, it’s been a disaster... even when the fps is stable, I experience micro-freezes and more significant freezes in the dungeons...

I’ve tried everything I could find on various forums to fix the issue, but without success...

What drives me even crazier is that my wife, who plays right next to me, doesn’t have this problem.

I sincerely hope SE will fix this in the maintenance on the 16th...

In my case the stupidest thing about it is not only does it happen in big crowds and fights, but it also happens when I am along in my inn room or walking the bell outside of my house with not a soul in sight much less inside my house or even gathering at a node in the middle of nowhere with not a soul around.

but in task manager i have 30% gpu 3d tho???


edit: now it's 97% gpu 3d usage. lol.

I think that's a sensor bug with HWMonitor.

There's no way your GPU is 79c and at 0.6% usage.

Was checking out what is using the GPU 3D next to my two ff14 clients, seems like DWM, CSRSS, while gyazo was used for the record capture and the system itself gets on the GPU copy after every fps drop while youtube is running on my mozilla browser which caused my CPU usage to lag aswell since my browser doesn't have the hardware acceleration enabled, none of them were capping my GPU memories but utilzation is either at 70% or 100% then down to like 1 to 10%

I've been having problems with frames micro-stuttering but staying at 59-60 FPS average. Playing on recommended settings and FFXIV will hover at 60-70% GPU usage then drop to 40% on a micro-stutter and go back to 60-70%. The hottest my GPU gets is 81°C so it isn't throttling.

This has been happening sporadically since 6.3 but became noticeably worse since Dawntrail, incredibly worse since the July 6th update, and it's only been deteriorating since then. I tried to play today and it's really bad. I had a 450ms frame lockup that happened during a ground AOE which made it hard to avoid. I've tried everything to fix it but the only intervention that alleviates it at all is playing in fullscreen instead of borderless and that only lessens it slightly.

Ikr! my sister's all play in the same house and im the only one who been experiencing it the whole time, it's not a net problem but idk what exactly,
it started happening after the Emergency Maintenance before it everything was smooth T^T
if anyone finds a solution please tell me, for now i'm just hoping that it will fix after the maintenance this Tuesday

Hunt trains with 100+ players are having insanely bad frametimes even with player culling turned up. Normally the game has a frametime of 12-17ms, on hunt trains it goes up to 50ms between frames! The game never got this bad this prior to Dawntrail with large trains. Im assuming it has something to do with the new shaders on armor to be honest.

Turning off the new ambient occlusion and forcing fsr dynamic resolution at 30fps doesnt seem to do anything.
I have amd driver settings Radeon Chill and Radeon Enhanced Sync on.

Begin was smooth, now stutters and -10/20 FPS every now and then.
During the new EX trial, it always dips and makes it hard for tankbusters.
