Te gameplay of healer is intentionally designed to be based around ogcd's.
Pretending that your rotation is 1-1-1-1-1-2 when it's really:

1-2-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1
-3-34-3-4-5-6-7-

etc etc. is really disingenuous. The only healer who doesn't adhere to this well is whitemage. They have very few ogcd's in place of their afflatus spells.

Besides you use GCD healers a ton more than we ever did in endwalker's ex1 and ex2. Just watch a video of those if you need a refresher.

What is the point of pretending like this is actually true, like genuinely what do you get out of it

Look at any log above a 40 in EX 1 and you’ll see that of the average 150 casts or so you weave at most about 40 times (and for SCH half those weaves are damage), so at best 30% of your casts have a weave attached (on most logs it’s actually about 20% with a higher proportion of double weaves) and we still retain 70+% uptime on our GCD spell

So assuming that all weaves somehow fall specifically in the GCD nuke range (they don’t) we still spend near 35% of the fight casting a GCD nuke spell on the no weaves and nothing else

These are both 70 percentiles, well above the 40 percentile you requested. These aren't purse runs either, theres plenty of room for these players to improve but the data doesn't lie. Unless you are playing whitemage then well over half of an encounter is being spent weaving.
