I can certainly understand it now. It's still quite upsetting to me. Makes it seem like my voice doesn't matter or the voices of others that don't follow the creators, or even the creators fans that have a differing opinion.

I'm reminded why I stay away from the forums.

Well, I'm sorry to say this, but that's just the reality we live in today. I mean..it's not just FFXIV. You just gotta look at Instagram for example. Influencers are taking over.
There are still a few people that see this critically but many just get...well...influenced and blindly consume the content they want to sell or adapt their worldviews as their own.

Tbh I think it's pretty sad too, but I don't know if this kind of development can even be stopped anymore.
It's been going on for far too long now.

Maybe an unpopular opinion I think they should hire the writers behind FFXVI. Though it still ends with the power of friendship like most FF do, it at least had mature levels of writing for majority of the game. Dawntrail is at the 4kids anime levels of writing at its current stage.

Honestly, I just want Natsuko Ishikawa back. Wouldn't be surprised if they did the same with her and now have her busy with a future single-player FF title.

I don't think they just blindly see the reaction of the creator as a single person and leave it at that. The MAIN reason they follow creators, is because there are many people watching them and commenting around them - I did remember them saying they also take a look at comments from these types of opinion videos they post. Usually creators have a huge following because their opinion resonates with others - and if it doesn't, then it's sure to get a reaction of people going against it. It's not as bad as it seems.
And I've also seen many of the devs comment in fanfest and other events that they read reddit, and they at least *say* the forums matter, so even though I don't think they'd be reading every single post here, if it's an opinion shared by a lot of people, be it from forums or influencers, it most likely will get to them somehow.

Content Vampires is nearer the mark. Square Enix is the studio that created the content. These chucklefucks are barely personalities providing commentary. I can't believe this is what media has become.

Yeah I'd love to have either back; they had different styles, but I liked both very much in their different ways, and it's what kept me with the game before.
Funny now to think back on when I got into FF14; I gave it a chance cause I wanted to replace my last main MMO cause its writing quality had nosedived and I wanted something I could care about again, ironically enough. Cause that's important to me if I'll be spending a lot of time in the world. ARR was nice enough, the end of the ARR patches told me this one was different and should get a longer chance, and Heavensward was what made me fall in love with it for real. Stormblood was nice with some highlights, Shadowbringers and Endwalker great again in different ways.
And now here we are, and I'm looking elsewhere again.

So if they brought back either of my favourite veterans in an emergency decree, I'd like that, and now would be the right time to announce it.

Real talk . . . I've played with JP voices since HW and haven't heard Wuk Lamat's english voice short of the DT cinematic and yikes . . . I see why people dislike the english VA. It's all over the place and very inconsistent with the accent. Not saying this is the fault of the VA per-say (could be bad direction) but yeah that's pretty damn bad.

Content creators don't usually have the incentive to shit in their own beds, especially creators who focus majorly on one game. They want to enjoy the game and they do want the game to succeed. Case in point - Zepla was one of the most positive streamers up until EW MSQ, praising FFXIV left and right.

Then EW post-MSQ happened. Then DT MSQ happened.

It's become really challenging to stay positive.
