Looking at Dalamud now in that campaign poster I now know im not crazy and I actually is seeing red spikes and purple designs on the moon after 1.21

I suspect a giant eye will be opening out from the moon looking down at us.

It's an electrode, we've just only seen the bottom half of it so far.

EDIT; In all seriousness though it definitely looks all weird and man-made what with the spires and those white sparks that you can see ingame. I suspect either a bomb or a bigass city. Maybe it's gonna collide and try to take all our aether because it's running out. I dunno speculation is fun.

The Allagian Empire has imprisoned something INSIDE of Dalamud. Dalamud is not a moon, it is one giant seal keeping something that they saw as a possible threat to the future of Eorzea Inside it's mechanical depths..

I like this theory. But maybe instead of something they saw as a future threat, it actually was a threat in their day, but they couldn't destroy it, only imprison it.

I just found the way Final Fantasy XIV is written was weird and unusual and actually read Final Fantasy XV at first. It could be a hint at FFXIV being renamed FFXV for 2.0, a decision I could understand considering the terrible reputation FFXIV has.

At the same time though I'm not entirely sure they'd want to dedicate a number to the incomplete version 1.xx. Though SE's PR logic has always been anyone's guess ^^;

I considered the Legacy Campaign to be the link between FFXIV and FFXIV 2.0, that's why I thought we could get from FFXIV to XV. Anyway, time will tell^^
