

Yeah pretty much all tanks got was an attack tied to a cd or extra attacks on top of old ones. The new personal mitigations would of been cool if the short CDs weren't absurdly busted on all but DRK.

If the blog is any indication it looks like 'gap closers' might get a Threat modifier. \o/

To be honest, i really hope the animation gonna change cause i don't understand why but i have a slow feelings with.
Like my Charater stay 0.30sec before slide ridiculously and just appear and stand front of the ennemies totaly confuse by what i done before ignoring me for attack the heal who look more dangerous than me and my sword ...
I main DRK that my favorite class but that changementy make me fill strange. If SquareEnix add an AOE effect for having some enmity OK but at this moment why erase the damage and replace the animation in first place ? Plunge are very good, stylish and usefull.![]()

Yeah a lot did but I mean literally every single tank got the exact same thing. Like identical, with healers the capstones were slightly different for example but for all tanks it was: long Def CD upgrade, filler attack upgrade and burst cd upgrade. Like completey identical not different at all. The other roles were lazy but tanks had a literal copy paste template.

Glad to hear they're at least giving it enmity 'cause Shadowstriding into dungeon mobs and needing to hit Unleash at the same time around all the delay and instant big DPS feels terrible. Plunge was my go-to for grabbing the outliers, relying on Unmend just feels so slow and inefficient.
The other thing that really bothers me about Shadowstride that hasn't been mentioned in this thread is just how horribly quiet it is. Plunge had a cool sound to it that added a little adrenaline burst at the start of a fight. Shadowstride is just...nothing. The volume of the phasing or whatever is really low, and the sound is boring besides. It feels empty, sounds empty, is empty. :')
Similar situation with GNB except instead of being too quiet, the GNB noise is a little too high pitched and annoying to me, to the point where it hurts my ears like that mosquito tone sound and I don't even want to play the class anymore. Big agree that adding some kind of cartridge burst would be MUCH cooler in the sound department too.

Now that I am getting around to leveling my tanks, and playing them in current instances, it confirms that for me that GNB, and DRK are missing something now that Rough Divide, and Plunge have been removed, and replaced with the dashes. The dashes lack weight. DRK especially feels weightless now.


This is a problem with a lot of new skills for some reason, but not all. Would be nice if they just upped the volume of these skills, but I doubt they will.

I don't know what their reasoning for removing the damage and effects for the DRK and GNB were especially if they left it for WAR and PLD. However I would like to know the reasoning. And if it was just cause they didn't want us using them in rotation then why leave it on WAR and PLD? But I digress.
The animations for Shadowstride and Trajectory just feel lacking. No snappy animations the enmity loss from the changes makes it almost impossible to keep hate in W2W pulls especially with a Pictomancer in the party. I always seem to lose one Mob and then have to Unmend it back in the enmity list. Now granted that enmity generation update to the AOE combos may help in this endeavor but still an issue.
I personally feel DRK and GNB lost more of their job identity from this change than gaining more identity.
