    New Expansion Dungeons and Expert Roulette

    I love the dungeons in this game to a varied degree. I have nothing to say in this post regarding specific dungeons and/or their mechanics.

    What I am suggesting here is to give each new expansion dungeon an expert version. It would make it so the expert roulette is more than just 2 dungeons and would also allow us to do the other brand-new dungeons more often.

    You could give the expert version the same gear drops as the normal version, just scaled to the current expert dungeon ilvl.

    Personally, as a casual player, I'd support the idea of an "expert"-version for the dungeons, but I would go one step further. I would like to have easier lvl100 dungeons, since they're currently frustratingly hard for me, and in addition an "expert roulette" with the "expert-version" that is harder (with all the leveling dungeons in it as well) for those who want it more difficult.

    I did one level 100 dungeon, we wiped I think 8 times or more in there, and it was not fun at all. I understand that some people like the higher difficulty, hence I'm not really complaining, but I would prefer it more to have something to do at level 100 for us casuals as well. I for one won't touch the level 100 dungeons anymore, I was too frustrated with the difficulty level. I'm also not doing harder content in the game (extremes/savage/etc.) for the same reason.

    I just hope that future dungeons that I'm forced to do (because of msq) are not so hard. If they are, well, the game would then be not for me anymore.

    Please keep in mind most people running these duties haven't done them before or are only seeing them for the second or third time. In my experience of running things in Early Access week vs. running it with a few friends who know the mechanics can be a big difference. And I am most certainly not a savage raider, far from it.

    This was also true for myself, but I honestly never died this often in any dungeon that I ran the first time before. I'm not blaming others, I myself constantly ran into some AoE, positioned myself in the wrong way, didn't get the mechanic right, or I even finally got the mechanic and still positioned myself wrong for some reason ... I just lost all motivation to go in there again. Ever.

    I feel very much the same. I don't think the dungeons were too difficult. But they expected way too much precision and attention that I can give at my skill level. Maybe 1/2 the mechanics per boss would have been less frustrating for me. Then as I get comfortable with those, I can step up from Easy mode to Normal mode, and so on.
    Making restart over and over again was just not fun. Especially the final dungeon. That was especially un fun for me and extremely frustrating.

    I stopped for 20 minutes and seriously considered just watching an LP and giving up on Dawntrail all together.
    Only reason i kept going was knowing the end was close. But if that dungeon had been level 95... I almost certainly would have quit playing for a few months or until something was patched.

    Yeah about the 2 EXDR I admit I struggled even though I looked up a guide later that I just can tell I'll mess up a few mechanics because it's very chaotic. I know there are other sources of tomes but I usually like running EW EXDR as a tank and I feel like I'd let too many strangers down if I did them now in DT.

    This is how I'm feeling right now also, and I've never found myself this frustrated before in a MMORPG. For me, it's not a matter of being incapable of learning the new mechanics, it's that there simply isn't time to react to them. By the time you see the telegraph on the ground, it's already too late to get to where you need to be.

    Many fights nowadays require to look at the boss and not wait for orange markers. There are tells like on what side a sword is being held up high etc., this shenanigans. If you have trouble seeing an attack in time, observe what they're doing before that attack. There is usually something there "announcing" a mechanic and that's usually something that leaves you enough time to react to it.
    (I'm not entirely opposed to it anymore, but it would really be of help if we could zoom out more so we are not forced to have a specific camera angle to see all tells...)

    Dungeons are mind-numbingly easy and the easiest group content in the game. You guys want to make them easier? This game is already 99% casual.
