FFXIV Dawntrail reviews are out on Metacritic

User scores don't tell me much. It takes a specific type of person to even write a review in the first place, then take into account that usually said people are writing a review in the first place because they have a strong opinion one way or the other.
Also, who cares what some random's opinion is?

That said, the MSQ was underwhelming this time, but the rest of the game is still good. Considering its two weeks of content out of 3 years, I'll survive.

Stormblood apparently achieved universal acclaim with just about everything 9 or higher. ARR was even rated slightly better than Dawntrail. I think they might have a bit of a problem on their hands.

I'm not confident that the devs take story and pacing feedback into consideration, but if there's anything to take away from the somewhat lukewarm reception: if you're going to have these extended 3+ hour stretches of story where it's just cutscenes, you need to make it so the cutscenes aren't *painfully* drawn out and padded. We don't need a 10 second pause after every line of dialogue to see separate characters silently do a surprised emote. We don't need 20 seconds at the end to see the characters slowly turn and walk away. They could trim 3-5 minutes off most of these cutscenes and lose absolutely nothing. And for the love of god, stop having me take 2 steps just to enter another cutscene to recap the cutscene that just ended 20 seconds ago. Stop writing as if your entire playerbase has a brain injury.

Just glancing at the user scores there are a lot of 0s which just makes me think they are pretty irrelevant too. There are a lot of reasons for people to hate the game but "woke" and "sweet baby inc" just aren't it, nor is the game a 0 by any means. Just glancing at the 0s makes me thing it is being bot spammed.

It's 100% being review bombed by Grummz and his cult, just look at how many 0s citing "woke" and "sbi" as the main reason. Hell, I even saw one of Titanmen's old account names somewhere there lol

Those should be ignored, for sure, whether it's the work of a "cult" or an individual review crying about the same things. What is left should be what we need to look at.

I doubt, that grummz has so much influence to alter the score.
