What is up with FFXIV killing or friging female NPC's? (Spoilers)

We just going to forget that Papalymo sacrificed himself at the end of Heavensward in an attempt to stop Shinryu or…? And he’s barely been mentioned since by anyone that wasn’t Lyse. I was shocked when he made an appearance at the end of Endwalker in Aitiascope and as one of the Voices of the Past because everyone forgets about him.

Unrelated to just the Scions since you brought up Venat, I guess we’ll also ignore how Haurchefant was killed in Heavensward; and how his death really impacted the WoL. How the Warriors of Darkness were all dead by the time they showed up in Patch 3.4, and Ardbert is probably one of the most important NPCs when it comes to the WoL. Likewise for Emet and Hythlodaeus in Endwalker.


Anyways, I don’t think it’s that deep.

The only thing I will say is that Thancred had the perfect death scene set up in Shadowbringers, but I guess the writers didn’t have the guts to actually follow through with it. And hey, at least Dawntrail was the first expansion Y’shtola didn’t have a fakeout death. Not that Wuk Lamat gives her much screen time or opportunity to set one up.

The writers were correct.
I'm glad Thancred didn't die in Shadowbringers, or the second time in Endwalker. That way he was able to give his incredible valuable contribution as a character in Dawntrail...

I'm not expecting everyone to agree with me. Folks will view it as how they'd like. I'd just like to know if another female NPC gets fridged again in Dawntrail, so I'd know if I should keep playing or not. Cause I don't really feel like playing.

Interesting, well I've saw that Krile joins you in the trust system based on the patch notes So I assumed her status was upgraded. I also assumed that it meant that she was safe from the chopping block but I wanted to make sure.
