[PSA] Don't solo fights as Tank when everyone else is dead at 50%

Seen this kinda post come up regularly, and really I can only say:

Don’t hate the player, hate the game.

It’s not a player’s fault the game is badly designed in this way. Also, nothing stopping you (any “you”, not anyone specific) from asking to reset.

If y'all die once or twice, sure, but if that keeps happening, then those dying would be wasting the tank's time, so they should finish the job the dps/healer can't be bothered to finish.

But most tanks don't wait to see if it keeps happening. They just solo it and don't care if the party is asking them to wipe.

Can't tell you whether I've seen this or not. I usually do dungeons with my war friend and usually, it's him and me the ones left alive so we can handle it together.

But I'll say, if the tank does it after a single almost wipe, then sure, call them out, blacklist them so you don't see them again, it's deserved.

Still, that doesn't change my original stance.

After reading through this topic I can safely say this is a massive skill issue, best way to mitigate this is by not getting hit.

It's almost like dungeons shouldn't be able to be done with a missing class role.. No tank you shouldn't be able to pull even 1 pack of mobs let alone a boss.. no healer you shouldn't be able to survive a pack of mobs or a boss.. no dps you shouldn't be able to clear a boss(i.e. enrage).. the overpoweredness of the classes right now is getting to be to much.. the disrespect for each role from other roles is at an all time high.. this crap needs to be addressed and fixed before anything else..

So, you can't really speak on it since you go in with a pre-made and also your friend who would stop for you. I really encourage you to try to go in without them and get the experience like the rest of us.

Since the launch of DT, I've had parties wipe in dungeons a handful of times. Any time there was a WAR in the group and the 3 of us wipe (which is the majority of the time since apparently WAR is the only good tank now) they immediately started trying to clear the boss while the rest of us watched. I asked for a reset for each, half of the time they listened. Some tanks genuinely don't care and want to have their moment.

Keep in mind my experience is mainly coming from Day 1 of the dungeon crawl and subsequent expert roulette grinding/level 100 dungeon grinding for tomes over the past few days.

It's not about disrespect for the jobs, I tend to play all of them and have some sort of fun with all of them. This said.

Are some tank skills a bit too much - look mostly at Warriors healing? Yes. In some cases healer is not needed at all for the whole dungeon due to insane amount of self healing provided. Instead of mitigating the damage self healing negates it completely and it has nothing with any sort of 'skill issue' press a button to negate all the damage done to you. Does it feel good to the person playing Warrior? IT DOES. I feel amazing. Does it feel good for a healer whos role in the part is keeping people (including a tank), while Warrior in a boss fight can easily keep himself alive as well as one or sometimes both DPS. Why am I talking about it? Since tank finishing 50% of a boss is just a symptom that should be fixed at some point, not to spite the Warriors (or any other tank) but to alleviate large issue where some players who choose not to main specific class may not have fun or feel like their entire role is unnecessary.

This also leads to a discussion about healer dps rotation - but that's another subject, nevertheless important one.

They enjoyed it. I didn't get 3 commendations because I joined with someone.

Not every fight can be solo Tanked by an under-geared tank it takes some skill. Not as much as it used to with all the self-heals Warriors has now but it still has some.
Finally, why not flex? It's one of the few times you can feel really good about the job you chose to play.

DPS I can do big numbers CHEER ME.
Who cares if you can do big numbers if you die 1-5 times in a fight those big numbers are gone.

The fix is a few Tankbusters and Group soak, That overpower a tank's self heals.
