I don’t pay much attention to shout chat, but so far I haven’t seen anyone openly complain. And from talking to my friends they really like the story. Two mentioned slow buildup, but otherwise happy with the story and writing. And I don’t play in a social bubble of some Yoshi P cult or whatnot. There’s a lot to criticise in DT (some job design decisions for example), but story wasn’t the one I would see people in the game have problems with.
Pay your surgeon very well to break the spell of ageing.
That's some unlimited baitworks right there!
I give the story a 5/10... worst expansion so far. And please no more Wuk Lamat, I've had enough of her and I don't even hate her. We had too much already. Enough is enough.
I haven't finished the msq, but so far it's one of my favorites.
It felt like I was playing my favorite rpgs:
1. Had the flavor of adventure and party dynamics found in Grandia II, FFXII, FFX, SKies of Arcadia, etc
2. Dealt with culture, which again, is very important for establishing lore, adventure, and allows the player to understand the location's situations.
3. Reminded me of Thousand Arms, my favorite rpg of all time.
PS. I feel square enix should not care what people have to say about msq and just pursue their heart and grand-vision of the direction they want to go forward with.
PS. Even the scions, whom I didn't want to see return added fun and interesting party and story dynamics. It was a great return to being an rpg, a FF.
I'm only giving it a 3/10 so far story been very boring.
thanks to several people in this thread for giving me your unsolicited opinions on how you didn't like dawntrail!
in the spirit of a hearty debate, i would like to counter-offer the question of "who asked" and point you to the "Post New Thread" button at the top left of the General Discussion forum, where you can make a whole new thread to discuss your thoughts, away from mine, which if you'll note was intended for me to offer my opinions!
so many of y'all genuinely need to learn to post in your own spaces. my god.
You might wanna reconsider posting on a forum then.thanks to several people in this thread for giving me your unsolicited opinions on how you didn't like dawntrail!

I'd love to hear what makes this story and plot good, so far I have seen not one thing to make me feel for characters involved, many situations disregard the WoL or even stand in exact opposition to what WoL stands for - such as saving innocent lives for example, which WoL does not even attempt to do at some points to straight out murdering people in the last zone. Do I feel like murder as a topic is taboo? No. I welcome it when done right, in this case it was hardly right and I cannot imagine a situation where Scions or WoL lightly decide "yeah, sure lets murder everyone." if anything my mental image of WoL and Scions was such that they'd rather face bigger hardships and struggles than extinguish innocent lives just to make their job easier.thanks to several people in this thread for giving me your unsolicited opinions on how you didn't like dawntrail!

oh i recognize the folly in doing so, but i also recognize the fact that people have main character syndrome and insist upon telling me and everyone their opinion that was never asked for in a space they didn't create. had somebody post twice in party chat in the level 100 trial that they skipped cutscenes and wanted to skip the one in the trial.
what happened to people just letting others enjoy things? i wouldn't go to some other random person's thread to tell them how wrong i think they are unless it was one that invited open discussion. it costs nothing to stay in your lane!
