I do agree with Zan's idea of time being involved but one outcome I dont see happening that some people have suggested is everyone falling asleep and waking up years later and the nations are rebuilt and new structures. If everyone falls asleep who is going to rebuild everything? Unless people from other parts of Hydaelyn came into Eorzea and rebuilt if for them which I highly doubt. And wouldnt Dalamud affect the whole planet if it were to hit instead of a region of it? If some giant object were to hit a planet wouldnt it leave dust in the atmosphere choking out most if not all life? The concept art showing lush vegetation make me think it doesn't land.

True.. from what I've seen, one of the major limitations of the "Echo" is that you can view the past but you can never change it... I think they wanted to stress that the echo isn't time travel... it is only viewing a persons memories...
If you used the echo on me... you'd see things from my perspective, and you'd never see anything that I didn't see

Edit: Unless they pull out the Jake Gyllenhaal "Source Code" / Denzel Washington "Deja Vu" deal.... where the main character is told he can only view the past and can't intervene or change it, and he ends up finding a way to do just that

Unless I completely misunderstood things, I changed the course of history by changing things during one of my echo experiences in the Alchemy quest line.

Yea... i get the feeling the thing will be stopped... but not completely... broken up into MANY smaller pieces that will still cause major damage but don't threaten the very life of the planet

Yea... I don't know that it will it the ground... but the reason it would be centered on Eorzea seems to be that Eorzea is rich with Aether, more so than any other land

I prefer my idea of the echo saving us, the path of the twelve along with the twelve protect Eorzea, but thier protection only saves lifeforms, after the destruction of Dalamud, just before it hits, Eorzea is scared and all path of the twelve are unconcious, about to die, but the twelve keep us alive and we wake up in the future.

This would answer how the the world is rebuild, how life on Eorzea is saved and how the planet get scared in such ways. It is also a very Final Fantasy outcome.

I do think the twelve will play a role and maybe the primal will help reshape the land.
But I'm more curious about what is inside Dalamud is it hollow? It was built by an ancient race and then made it to outer space somehow.
