Sounds like you stood somewhere you shouldn't skill issue bro.Because all you're doing is wasting people's time. You aren't making the dungeon go any faster by flexing your WAR or Tank Muscles by self-sustaining from 50% to 0%. Nobody cares. It's faster to wipe and start again if that many people are dead before 5% or even 10%.
When people do this, they detract from people's gameplay and might as well just have not played the fight at all - and I doubt SE will do anything about it considering they're dead set on making Tanks Invincible(unless you're DRK).
You say its not about the healer strike, but its evident in your original post for this thread it is actually about the healer strike and specifically about Warrior. As that movement has its roots in how they strongly detest that Warrior can sustain itself without a healer's help. Which does display a clear bias on why your post is anti-solo.Sure, but when people are trying to do things in a reasonable time Tanks don't realize that it's a waste of time to Solo a fight unless it's 10% or so. Even then, Tanks soloing fights shouldn't be a thing in general - it actually exacerbates the issues we've seen in Endwalker - and I'm not even talking about the Healer Strike at all, just Tanks in general feel like they're braindead now.
Also considering the healer strike sentiments, people would still complain because if the boss was at 10% and the tank was soloing. As like you had told me, they shouldn't be able to.
If the tank wants to solo, they can be my guest. As while they do that, I can stand up, stretch, take a break, get some water. If they fail? Oh well, another attempt to make sure I don't go down and learn to do better in the future.
The last 8 man raid of the MSQ for DT at 65% all healers and DPS died, two warriors remained and we sat and watched them finish off the last boss. We didnt get to experience the whole fight and just watched. It was wholly unfair and ridiculous. Oh and before the git gud or shouldn't have died dreary comments appear, this was literally the second attempt on a first run. It ruined it for me and others.
But they aren't learning as much by watching it as they would be doing it. That's the issue. Everyone died on the first boss of the third dungeon in my first run. The tank solo'd the boss from like 85% to 0. It took ages and there is absolutely no way that I'm going to remember the mechanics the next time I have to do it because I just sat there bored watching paint dry.You also give people a chance to learn.
Personally, I have always asked my group (if I am confident) - Do you want me to solo, or do you want me to sacrifice myself? More oft than not they have been happier with the former since they can just view the mechanics from the outside and learn them.
You can learn just as much by watching and observing someone execute the mechanics, if I am honest. Not everyone will learn in the same manner.. Personally I learn by banging my head against a wall until it sticks... Some others will learn it with a graph, and others may learn it by just watching someone else clear it.But they aren't learning as much by watching it as they would be doing it. That's the issue. I simply give people that option on whether they want to watch and learn or whether they want me to off myself into a wall or take all the unavoidable AoEs under the sun to sacrifice myself.
So other people can't play or do something skillfully because you couldn't so now they must die cause you stood in the glowy puddle of doom? Don't get me wrong I got clapped by more than my share of moves and died cause I'm dumb, but that's on me so I sit floor tank in shame as I should, if I get a res great if I didn't I aint got no one to blame but my own mistakeThe last 8 man raid of the MSQ for DT at 65% all healers and DPS died, two warriors remained and we sat and watched them finish off the last boss. It's not skillfully when you can face tank Everything, self heal it up, mit away, and have a insanely larger hp pool, we don't even assign stats anymore so there's literally zero skill in being unkillable in the entire main story campaign outside raidsSo other people can't play or do something skillfully because you couldn't so now they must die cause you stood in the glowy puddle of doom? urge to respond how the Souls community would rising...
seriously, people will cry about tanks not pulling wall to wall and how much more time it takes but it sok to waster other's time time take 15-20 minutes for a tank to solo down a boss from 50%? nice double standard the community has.
