I know, paranoia. But at least confirm that there's the real person behind before accepting a link.
You're right! I forgot I literally had a friend get hacked on discord and all he did was click a link. I was talking to some random dude for 40 minutes only to be hit up for money. Always confirm it is a friend, if something seems off, go with your gut and just ignore whatever link is being sent. Also its good to remember that SE will most likely never contact you in game though tells. They usually send messages using the in game mail in the support window (maybe via mogmail? unsure). If they do contact you in game, their name will always point out that they are a GM.
