I see it on my character sometimes. I wonder if its a glitch/oversight on shading around the mouth?![]()
People know what they do; frequently they know why they do what they do; but what they don't know is what what they do does.
So not exclusive to face/mouth 3, then... I think it's likely an oversight with the shape/size of the new mouths. When they move in a certain way they leave gaps where previously they didn't. I don't know how often devs check this thread, but I'm hoping they see it and can implement a fix!
This also happens with male miqo'te face 1 and mouth 4, particularly when smiling and when looking from a lower angle. So not exclusive to face/mouth 3, then... Just chiming in to say that I use the same face + mouth (Raen instead of Xaela though), and I've also encountered this. It's made taking screencaps more difficult, it's so irritating.

I expect it to be an unpopular opinion but I don't like the new hair textures much, the darker lines in the old ones made the hair look more defined and in the new one I feel like the detail gets lost.
Also, I took this screenshot (old/new) for another thread but I can't get over how crispy and pixelated the character looks (especially in gpose/cutscenes). I'm not sure if this is the right word but it looks like a lack of anti-aliasing? The hair is also too bright.

Honestly, agreed, at least where it concerns hairstyles like yours that really took an obvious hit. I've seen others in light colors that look good to me, generally, but styles like these seemed to have lost more definition than others. I think the blurry super-sampling owed to DLSS and certain FSR settings is at least partially to blame, though, especially when zoomed out. That and the finer hair textures aren't always playing well together.I expect it to be an unpopular opinion but I don't like the new hair textures much, the darker lines in the old ones made the hair look more defined and in the new one I feel like the detail gets lost.

I saw these screenshots online a few days ago and thought it would be worth sharing here. I thought the Ancients' eyes were deliberately made to glow?
Has anyone checked early ShB Ryne's eyes?
Poor anti aliasing was my biggest complaint about FFXIV's graphics before the update. The new options did nothing to address this. The jaggies shimmer as distractingly as ever, and the least bad AA option introduces an awful flickering to most light sources.
I feel like there's not enough complaints or changes regarding female Seeker Miqo'te face 1 but I've been really sad about her update. She is not as cute, innocent, and youthful as she used to be, and some colors just look off. I couldn't even replicate a similar neutral lighting with the new light features when using Gpose without too much glare. I really tried to like her new appearance since the benchmark released, but it feels like what makes her herself is gone. The topology has definitely changed regardless of lighting.
Her eyes constantly look blank in most lighting environments. Her nose and lips are far too round and look bigger than they should. Everything looks purposely exaggerated and rounder compared to the original soft, painted look, especially in her lips. Her lips look like fillers, with a darker and matte color. The blues in her hair are washed out and even though her hair is a little off-white, it looks completely gray in many menus such as Character, Portraits, Dyes, Try On, etc. She just looks mature and serious now.
The adventurer plate in 7.0 completely changed how she originally looked. Her lips are far too exaggerated. The lighting looked so bad that I tried to salvage it, and I ended up changing her facial expression to something more subtle.
Her Lodestone picture no longer looks as cute and now has an emotionless blank stare. She looks very different here, and I often use these pictures for easy access to reference photos.
I will be making more detailed comparisons and draw them over in the JP forums later and hope there will be more Seeker Miqo'te face 1 feedback. I wish I took more pictures of her before the graphics update considering that I started playing this game for less than a year. I've also been enjoying this game less because of her new appearance...

To me, the new hair looks softer and more like actual hair...as long as you have dark hair...and you can tolerate it looking a bit muted in comparison to its previous appearance. Light hair, on the other hand, just looks like a beacon.
This hair isn't perfectly white. Or, at least, it's not supposed to be; it's a greyish blonde. Truly white hair is, as you can imagine, even worse.
Maybe the ancients' more obvious eye glow was somehow tied to the slight glow that all eyes had before the update, resulting in the ancients' eye glow accidentally being removed when they intentionally removed our eye glow? It seems like a weird oversight, though. I hope it was an error that will be fixed in the future, because their noticeably glowing eyes helped the ancients look distinct from hyurs.
Ryne's eyes still glow.
I didn't have any screenshots of her pre-update appearance, so the first image is what I could find on the wiki. The following is a clearer screenshot of her new eyes.
I don't think her old eyes had the appearance of sharply-defined, pale blue "pupils", but I could be wrong. I remember the bright part of her eyes looking more like hazy blue lights against a darker outer edge.
TL;DR: we (and the ancients) no longer have glowing eyes, but that's okay, because we have grossly incandescent hair to make up for it.
