Aside from all of the obvious, what accent is she even trying to do? I'm a native Spanish speaker, I've been up and down the world too, and I swear to god I've never heard something similar. It's so unbelivably forced and that's the impression I got just from EW's final patches. I skipped DT lol.

Apparently it's a Puerto Rican accent from what the user 2 posts above you said.

The VA just has an American accent naturally, if you look her up (Sena Bryer) she has a website with samples of her work where sometimes she talks in her regular voice before doing character voices and she just has an American accent. Also her sample work and other work she has on her website is actually pretty good for the most part too, so I don't know what happened with her work on Wuk Lamat. The biggest thing I noticed is that in her other work she's not doing an accent and her emotional range is like 100 times better.

As of why they didn't just do re-takes and re-do some scenes, maybe they ran out of time and had to maintain consistency with previously recorded lines? Some line delivery felt like they just took the first take and ran with it, but at least there are no bloopers that accidentally made it into the game. That's the best I got.

I'm more likely to blame the voice director to be honest. Keep in mind her accent was there from day 1 for the post-EW quests, they had plenty of time when making her questline to decide that the accent wasn't working and just... didn't. And the accent definitely was not working in the cut scenes with her before Dawntrail came out. I don't know why they told her to do an accent but it really limited her ability to convey emotional range and it makes her come off like Tommy Wiseau in The Room next to all the other VAs. It sucks, because you can tell from other work she is clearly capable of doing better and this is her biggest role, too.

The reports were there in January how bad her voice was. She is just a terribad VA who should have been recast very early on.

As for errors, English slips on "Hear, feel, think" in the JP 2 times not translated, before finally getting it partly right just after the "stuffy" cabin. I don't think those shouldv'e have been skipped in English.



At least the Japanese voice makes the expansion bearable. So I am glad that is there, although, we were burnt with Haurchefant in JP/En story differences. And I am seeing he same unsync between the Spoken Japanese words and the English text. I hope they don't repeat the same mistakes of HW in diverging stories between the language groups.

I'm a native floridian (born and raised florida cracker basically) and all my neighbors are hispanic (literrally surrounded by them) and have had many friends, co workers, fellow students who were Puerto Rican, Mexican, Cuban.... and her accent doesn't even hit any of those...

That's my point, the spanish spoken in puerto rico is a different dialect than south american spanish and therefore sounds different, and portuguese is a different language all together. Doesn't make it garbage. And, i have no idea what you're going on about. When did i say anything about every minority having accent. i'm responding to the post talking about her "fake" portuguese accent; wuk lamat doesn't have a portugese accent, she has a puerto rican one. (by the way, i'm puerto rican)

Explain further I am hearing conflicting things now.
