Dawntrail is the worst expansion yet

I said what I did cause every expansion has had a thread or two pop up.calling it the worst. Some take off like ew some dont but it never changes never will. Next expansion will have its own worst expansion threads..

But DT has one good thing so far: the dungeons are fun for me. Not one dungeon is annoying.

They did exactly what I was hoping in an expansion except we don’t get to choose a side (good guys or bad guys). I don’t understand why we can’t choose to be evil like an alternate time line or be undercover. I want to see destruction and castles falling. I don’t want to see us making bonds with a character by doing chores. I was to see bonds made in combat, betrayals, deaths.

The story was what kept me playing all these years. Having content such as fates and exploration as the opening act on release day isn’t good. Since the story isn’t my interest I have no reason to play. I had to force myself to play. I used to take time off just to play the expansions on release date. Glad I didn’t take time off this time.

Something was definitely wrong when they put fates on their patch slides.

I agree that the start is painfully slow and the Pokémon gym story kinda boring.

On the other hand the dungeons are finally fun again (bosses) and the zones are for me the best looking till now. One gave me xenoblade vibes even.

I’m only halfway through right now. Till now I would put in in the Middle of expansions for me.

Also while Wuk Lamat is kinda… special at least you can see that she learns on the way in contrast to lyse.

What I do critique though is the overuse of tropes like her seasickness and food obsession.

I would give the expansion story a 7/10 right now but I‘m not finished yet.

My biggest grip is that our WoL has no real role in the story. We are just there not even with an agenda of adventuring but as a camera for the audience.
