O M GSo, were playing and got to meet Merlwyb again during the main story. Had to take a photo because she now too looks super off from her usual self with the changes to roegadyn.
I don't know if it is the angle of the cut-scene or what but.. just the eyes in particular is more crazy and wider than usual now.. and her smiling earlier in that scene got even more of that crazy "i'm gonna murder you" feel over the actual happy scene.
Again i don't have a before.. but most should know how Merlwyb looks right? So it isn't just player character that looks waaay different... but important npcs too.
She really looks like crazy
I have to pay more attention to Kan-E-Senna to see if I notice something off. She's my favorite. It would be sad if she ended looking worse

That's exactly the one bottom I use for my glam. :P And it is the one where I realized the change. (Quaintrelle Skirt) Which is what promted me to write the post. I just wanted to exemplify the difference while commenting of a short-er skirt in the Faire Kohakama since it's way more noticeable cause of the lenght of the skirt.
The best preparation for tomorrow, is doing your BEST today.
Will pain make me whole?...
Eh...I wouldn't say liking terrible textures is having a eye for detail...everything she likes is just bad textures and low poly. You can even see the polygon slit on her au ra bottom lip on the 6.58 picture lmao. How are you still doing this. None of us are going to agree with you. Lunar's feedback was incredibly detailed and well thought out, and the things she pointed out are plain if you give them more than a cursory glance. Stop making it our problem that you don't have an eye for detail.
Sorry but there is no "detail" to be found. She just likes the old textures/low poly shape and that's it.
But hey...who am I judge. But if you want to believe its having some "eye for detail" to make yourself feel better go off. ((hint: Its not))

One thing I'm noticing is that DT faces -appear- vertically squished by about ~3-5%. Whether this is due to an actual change in the mesh, or just the cumulative effect of individually changed features and lighting, I put the blame for the 'puffy/round face syndrome' squarely on this vertical squish.
Had some more time to play and see things in motion, and I keep being thrown off by the noses… Like it was mentioned before, a sudden change of aesthetics towards a more realistic one, while using the same “base”, made a lot of noses look uncanny with the rest (especially jarring on some previously more stylized faces, like the one I use).
It’s better under some lighting conditions where the transition to the rest of the face is more smooth, but a lot of times it just feels plastered on.
Lighting does impact things, but… wish the stylization was kept and improved on within the style we know and love.

Just comming in with some info. Try increasing the light source that's being cast on your characters and see if they look better. I found mare lamentorum to be the best place because the light was flat. When I did this my character looked 100x better
I think maybe the lips are bugged or something. I'm not sure how they work but they look very wired in the dark

I am loving this update, and it really shows in the world design as well.
The only thing I am not so strung on is the waxy texture of the skintone.
Hey hey,
I start off with the positives.
I generally am extremely thrilled about the graphics update when it comes to the environment (If you don't see a difference, go into your graphics setting. Your previous settings got changed up a bit. Mine got lowered. Activate NVDIA DLSS manually, (mine got set to AMD even though I have an NVIDIA Graphics card) and set the overall settings to MAX).
I like the new lighting, textures, how objects are now rendered. Adding to that, I am also a huge fan of how clothes look now and in general how skin is displayed. I think the game looks amazing now!
With that out of the way, now to the *but*.
I am surprised Au Ra face 3 is rarely talked about. My character was supposed to be on the older side (late 30, start of her 40s) but now she just looks so extremely...young. The only difference between the two pictures are eyecolor and hairstyle.
The lower lip got smaller, the nose is just completely different, as well as er eyeshape. Her jawline was changed from a smoothely curved one to a harsher transition from jaw to chin.
Black hair is just not black anymore but rather...greyish? The intensity of her makeup got nerfed as well, with her black Lipstick not being as pronounced as before. Generally she seems to lack depth in color. I am rather disapointed in that regard and had to play with her makeup and eyecolor to give her face a bit more warmth and dimension.
I hope this gets updated, because generally I do really like the changes. Just not that my model changed that much and that colors got so dulled out.
