VIERA AND HROTHGAR COMPLAINT MEGATHREAD

But https://youtube.com/live/JhNkQv_wUj4 starting from 4:18:20 they are talking about unification of the head for races and one of the reason/goal is to reuse assets and streamline development. Which brings the question - what assets if not the hair or the headpieces? Especially something that was not possible before with all them being separate. And if it for some reason animation - then why not call it that? I can’t speak for hrothgars, but viera definitely got remodelled and unified. And for what then? Being upset and disappointed that all that was not even for getting access to the _new_ gear at the very least - seems pretty natural to me.

I have been already upset about it for years, it is just futile. Any of that coming out for DT was always just a fever dream. Literally, when EW came out the same exact thing was complained about "the new gear at the very least", there was some hope when the graphics update was announced that this would be a thing, but - again - anybody who knows how CBU3 operates already knew it was a long shot that anything like this would be added.

It is, unfortunately, a thing of "what did you expect?". This has been their modus operandi for years.

I would love to see things like that added, and actual *effort* be put into the game, rather than the homogenized, safe, mess that is has become. Where you can't even expect things for player races, as little as acknowledgment that something has cat ears.. Unless Yoshida explicitly states something like that will be added - probably not going to be added. Assuming things will only lead players to further disappointment, and frustration.

Honestly, same. I think there was always the thought my presets would look worse, but I didn't think they would feel so off, and I have purposefully been so out of the loop, that I never bothered with the benchmark. Thinking about what the game has become annoys me to no end. My presets, they're still certainly 'playable', and my actual Viera seems alright (I just had no new outfits ready to go for one at the moment).

Funnily enough. The biggest reason I didn't just switch back to my viera, is because for my pictomancer, I have this specific hat that I use that completely makes the outfit... that I cannot use on viera. It is a sad, sad irony.

Rather disapointed in the Hrothgals rather limited fur colors. Its just black, white, and various shades of yellow... and like bright pink. I wanted to make a darker red cat and cannot.

It's not just female Viera, my face 1 male Viera preset also now has one. It was first seen on the comparison from the fanfest stream. Thought I'd be adjusted as it looked like I had the darker nose tip option toggled, but alas.

My biggest gripe - especially after seeing all the NPCs around Tural - is WHY are player Hrothgar still so limited with the face specific hairstyles? Releasing female Hrothgar with only -2- hairstyles outside of their race specific ones is bad enough but then making the exact same mistake and locking the hairstyles to their faces for players again??? Why?

I really hope we can somehow push a change through regarding this. There are some fantastic looks that we could make if the hairs could be used across their faces and from what I can see there's no real clipping, glitching or any reason as to why it shouldn't be possible. Let us do it SE!

why did they launch femhroth with 4 hairstyles that are face locked?
weren't there enough complaints about that when males were released in the first place?
like, cmon!

i didnt enter the hairstyle contest on time bc i was working too much, but i did doodle some up post-contest for fun-before we knew exactly what femhroth were going to look like.
I just wish they'd had added the contest hairs for them as a big hooah welcome of sorts. i did do some curly/coily textured ones but never got passed super scratchy b&w mode > - <;;

For Viera nose, I went into the character creator to see if a fantasia would fix this and it seems to be all have this? Or maybe it is just the type of viera? It looks like they have ashes smudged on the nose.
