    It's a mathematical loss and has been since EW no matter if you get 11 ticks of it. It directly conflicts with heat generation. FT was a VERY slight potency gain in ShB. It's never been since scattergun has been introduced and people have somehow stuck to it even though it's not been true for years anymore.

    In DT, we're getting potency increases on Gauss and Ricochet and Gauss gets an AoE component to it. Since only HB/Blazing Shot recharge those, and not Autocrossbow, it means that autocrossbow directly loses efficiency comparatively in AoE situations. Asking around apparently ACB becomes inferior under 5 targets in AoE, which is ludicrous.

    I am seriously starting to wonder if the devs actually play this job.

    i for one say you don't pay my sub so i will decide by trying out mch and seeing how it works out and giving back feed back on improvements for the job.

    The thing is, the new skills dont seem to change the rotation much. So we're going to play the same gimmicks for another 2 years with few "reskinned" animations and 1-2 new buttons?
    I really wish MCH would become a bit more busier. And that's probably my biggest issue with this job...

    And I've been complaining about FT since a while now. It's odd that they refuse to address this skill. Also, crossbow being inferior is ridiculous.

    I'm just kinda laughing at how the 'finishing move' potency is like... 2/3 that of any other job. IF that. I guess it might make up for it with APM and the fact that it's a guaranteed crit direct hit ? I've never struggled to be top of the aggro list up to lvl 90 in a lot of content, without even double weaving so... we will have to see if it works out!

    That's the thing. You don't have to actually play any of the jobs to tell whether or not their gameplay is changing meaningfully from EW.

    They gained a charge on Drill, a follow-up to Chainsaw, and a follow-up to Analysis, and that's it in terms of buttons you get to hit more often. Though ironically, that's still better then what some of the other DPS jobs got (NIN literally only has a follow-up to Ten Chi Jin as their sole source of rotational expansion).

    MCH is already the most rigid out of the 3 rphys when it comes to downtime adjustment, mostly due to Air Anchor that can end up drifting or lost uses, as well as potentially Chainsaw as well. Not only do they add a follow up on one of those skills which increases the potency attached to problematic long recast GCDs (long recast GCDs with fixed rigidity like that are annoying), but it's some of the most impactful capstones as well that directly translate into high potency and heat/battery effective potency. The job is getting almost worse than it is already when it comes to flexibility, and that's saying something, even though it gets laxer on Drill due to the blessed addition of charges there.

    It's amusing to think that the extremely finicky, clockwork version of Stormblood still managed to retain a lot more flexibility when it came to playing around downtime, which also required some skill expression, by using flamethrower to make up for the lost amount of heat, or by using the old heat blast to cool down and readjust the heat gauge for the next burst..

    I didnt see any mention about MCH and crossbow, flamethrower and literally aoe rotation in YoshiP announcement. So, I'm using my chance and bump the thread. Please look into it, it feels god awful to use auto crossbow without refreshing Checkmate and Double Check.

    I would only want this if the ignition was always the same damage, therefore you could set it off right before the DOT ends which actually requires some thought.

    Also I hope they don't remove flamethrower because it's a button with actually unique use cases which i think is cool

    Its obvious that the team designing the jobs and balance give the least amount of care to physical ranged. They have clear biases towards making sure melee classes are given care and they are still holding on to this ideology that physical ranged "freedom of movement" is actually a real thing.

    No clue why MCH has to do 10-15% less damage than SAM/BLM and now even PCT when they are supposedly a selfish DPS class and yet you can't even feel the satisfaction of seeing big numbers on your screen.

    The 5% Party bonus was literally just created to make sure they could keep the physical ranged jobs and certain casters (RDM and SMN) in the dumpster when it comes to DPS so that melee can feel good about themselves even if its been piss easy to keep uptime and hit positionals with true north charges the last 2 expansions.

    I still have no idea who made the decision to do any of this when it doesn't make anyone being reasonable feel better about the game.
