if this works like any other twitch event then you can simply tune into a sponsored twitcher mute the volume switch to a different tab and once an hour check back to see if they are still streaming if so click away again and do something else for another hour if not then tune into the next sponsored twitcher and repeat until you've got all 6 hours racked up, this is how i've done all my twitch events i cant stand twitch i dont know how anyone can find joy in watching others play games

You can't anymore, see what Neoyoshi said.

This is just terrible for players who don't want to be spoiled.

It might be possible that we can still mute the browser tab itself and the drop counter would still work, buuuut, in the case of FFXIV, the tab itself still has to be active and not be hidden as a background process, so in the end, people would still have to keep the stream window active.

There could be and probably are browser extensions that could circumvent all of what i outlined, so i should have mentioned that. Plus i think being a twitch subscriber allows the account a bit more wiggle-room, but i'm only going off my own personal experiences, with the most recent being Diablo 4 Twitch drops.

Most people won't know about those extensions... They need to delay this, it's just very bad timing.

Well, I will personally miss out on the mount because I am not chancing any spoiler.

Dare I say it solves your issue, I'm a Partnered streamer on twitch in the ffxiv category and I stream in the golden saucer the first 2-3 hours of my stream(ALWAYS) just chatting and looking at glamour in towns. Whether its me or not there are creators who actually create content for the game beyond running MSQ down mid. If your afraid of spoilers, I've solved your specific issue with 2 rounds of sitting in my stream and never needing to watch it again. If you're afraid of other people being spoiled, that's their own Situation and making sure someone else has the "Best Possible Experience" is not necessary, Worry about yourself and not other peoples experiences, they have their own voice and this seems to not be a hotly contended problem. Getting more eyes on ffxiv content especially at the beginning of dawntrail is only a benefit for the game at the end of the day, there is zero problem with what they're doing and if you don't like it then just don't participate.

I'll bookmark your Twitch, thank you.

I still think this is a bad decision on the part of SE though, it makes it very easy for people to get spoiled.
