omg, that tells me that you have not been around that long and did not experience cleric stance dancing healing at ALL. Yes, there was a large chunk of players that cried that healing was too hard and that it gated healing to only the most skilled of players due to the expecation that they heal AND dps but to be effective at DPS they had to turn a stance off and on to properly put out damage. The devs responded and removed stances in Stormblood. And yet there was still ever the "healers should heal and not dps" crowd. So then guess what, they yanked off most of their dps buttons to force healers to focus on healing. BUT also they wanted to make the casual player crowd happy so that story content didn't get TOTALLY blocked by difficult instances (The OG Steps of Faith was absolutely brutal and very few duty finder groups could clear that Trial when it was still a Trial due to how much HP the giant dragon had before they nerfed it to an insane degree) and still play the story, so they turned down the difficulty of all those contents, made dungeons easier, started forcing level syncs to max ilvl undergeared players in end game instances that were story based and this is how healers go to where they were. And the Devs ARE aware, quotes from YoshiP floating in several of these threads show he knows what's up and said its not going to change. We even have japanese players in the main thread saying they are not on board with this idea of a healer strike and healers are fine and go play another job if you don't like it. These changes absolutely were driven by player feedback and the FORUMS are not the only source of player feedback as MOST of the player base discusses the game in Twitch/youtube, Reddit, discord servers and facebook/X posts. In fact an insanely SMALL number of players use these forums that its laughable they would be considered a true represenative of the majority of the player base.
