The problem is that a lot of people take Xeno's opinions on stuff that isn't tanking seriously too.I'm of the opinion that content creators do not owe anyone anything, and no one owes content creators anything either. They are entitled to their opinion just like everyone else. While I don't necessarily agree with log shaming, I do think experience does have merit. When they were going over job changes, there were some people in a chat I was in that thought the duration increases were stupid because no one uses them. Context matters there because they don't do Savage or Ultimate, so the content they do does not require it. However, many savage and ultimate raiders will tell you that defensive CD's are quite often used at that higher level, so they would have a different opinion.
I could be different from a lot of people, but I don't take anyone's opinion as gospel on face value. I think for all the content creators I watch, there have been takes I agree with, and other takes that I don't. For example, when it comes to tank perspective, I would look to see Xeno's opinion. He plays it at a very high level, so his insight is going to be useful to me to try and understand things I might not think of when I'm tanking. However, I wouldn't put much stock in his take on DPS. Having said that, that doesn't mean everything he says about tanking I automatically assume is correct just because he says so. I'm not naive enough to believe that people don't follow content creators opinions blindly, but I put that on those who do it instead of the content creator.
People having an opinion who make content isn't the problem. It's the sheep who blindly follow. Stop pinning the blame on the wrong crowd.
So the sheep shouldn't blindly follow but actually read the threads and engage with the arguments in good faith?
Then the streamers should do the exact same thing no?
Again, their opinions are not the problem. The problem is how they go about presenting that opinion, as in pulling up people's profiles on third party websites, log shaming them and proceeding to call them an NPC. If you're a public figure, you bear some responsibility for the fact that your behavior affects other people. I would also rather people didn't model their actions after their favourite influencer, but they do.
Yeah I have no problem if creators want to pointlessly misconstrue our points as if that’s going to make the problems go away but the level some of them is going to is just kinda disgusting and the weird corners of the fanbase aren’t helping
Like near every content creator who has covered this has insulted Gemina’s logs and now some of the more rabid ones are latching onto that weird “how casual is x person” list that’s been floating around
I know we all kinda collectively don’t ask don’t tell about add ons but publicly shaming logs (which mind you being a casual shouldn’t even preclude you having a voice on this topic) just seems pointlessly excessive for a topic you shouldn’t need credentials to have a voice on and these are people square sanctions by inviting them to the media tours
The whole thing has just gotten so toxic for what amounts to “hey can we please not be an afterthought”
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
I've seen that list and it just pretends that no one is using an alt as forum face despite bragging about having read thousands of posts in it.Yeah I have no problem if creators want to pointlessly misconstrue our points as if that’s going to make the problems go away but the level some of them is going to is just kinda disgusting and the weird corners of the fanbase aren’t helping

If you're on board with getting false information given to you just because someone isn't employed as a journalist then by all means. Who am I to stop someone who actually wants that? :PI was taught that entertainers are not to be held to a journalistic standard, ONLY JOURNALISTS. The content creators are just PLAYERS, they are no different than me or you and are COMPLETELY entitled to espouse their own opinion on a subject even if YOU don't like it because they are NOT JOURNALISTS.

I've been linked this list today: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...75lI_y/pubhtml
CC orbiters having a normal one again.
Says it accounts for savage but didn't include my DRS clears. So whoever made this list is being selective in what they include and I've lost all interest.I've been linked this list today: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...75lI_y/pubhtml

5/10 attempt at a burn book. Regina George would be disappointed.
