Were you in the benchmark threads telling them they're not doing enough? If I am not mistaken that movement came from forums. Was it a tantrum? Perhaps. It still got results. So permit me to find feedback going on ITT to be totally irrelevant. Well, not totally because after all it is clearly self soothing.
If you level the role, use it in DF with friends and with statics, you aren't leaving the role. That is still going to contribute to SE's numbers on who is utilizing the role.

Put yourself in SE's shoes for a minute. They hear about all of this. But they look at their metrics and the data doesn't match up. How seriously are they going to take things if their data of role usage contradicts it? Most classes that got a revamp are those that people weren't playing at all or even leveling. Those are solid metrics that would speak to them about player unhappiness.
