It's already happening. So many players logging in to play the game this week despite all these strikes.

What happened?
I've never cared for crafting much in MMOs so not really done much of it here either.
I did however lvl one up just to get that Moogle tribe mount.
But since then, I don't think I ever touched a crafter/gatherer.

They made some QOL updates in 5.1 to try to get more players into crafting and gathering. It worked pretty well. Not everyone was happy with the increased competition and decreased difficulty.

Lmao. Everyone and their mom are omnicrafters since ShB. Just copy the latest macro from the balance, follow a meld set and even the most braindead casual can be Byregot himself.

Welcome to the information age. The only reason more weren't doing it before was because it took way too long to level. The information had still been out there for those who were willing to look.

That honestly would be absolutely hilarious, and peak circus.
Imagine all the Savage+ Raiders having to level up crafters and gatherers so they can raid Savage first week.
Because Crafted gear will become available in the same patch. So they'll have to manually gather all the stuff to make it themselves. Pots alone would take stupid amount of time.

Gatherers have multiple S ranks, so this imbalance should be addressed.

Crafters are one of the few people that actually do deserve a strike.

What they did with crafting between Stormblood > Shadowbringers is borderline massacre.
