Absolutely no more new races please

Sorry that you're having to read yet another thread about it. Someone has to say it though. The community needs to show restraint if Yoshi P is going to just hand them the reins here.

Viera and Hrothgar still can't wear the vast majority of hats, and every new race that gets added is going to add more for SE to keep up with.

I'm happy they're giving us female hroths, rounding out the races we have, but it's completely impractical to keep expanding the list of playable races eternally. It will come at a cost to every existing race as quality eventually starts to drop. Let's be happy and appreciate the races that we have currently.

We need community pushback against this. New races are like new jobs. They'd be a huge announcement for a new expansion, and someone at SE is aware of this. Even after Dawntrail they are likely going to look for community support for new races because these races are marketable regardless of the workload they might create for the devs. Please be reasonable and deny them that support for it, let them focus on other content and additions.

I feel like this thread is a backwards attempt to try and garner support for what it opposes. If so, bravo tactic! Technology improves everyday, and Squares' pockets become deeper with more and more cash. It can only become more and more streamlined from here. I want literally every race playable 10 years from now and I'll pay as much money as it takes to do so.

Please no more new races. The ones that are already in game are exceedingly lacking in terms of lore, exposure, and customization. Elezen has 4 face options (realistically 2) compared to Hyur's 7 (for male) and 5 (for female). Duskwight Elezen are barely represented in lore, we have yet to meet a single Keeper tribe in game or met a predominant NPC that is a Keeper or Duskwight. Viera and Hrothgar are still missing hats. Au Ra faces are still tied to their horns. I firmly believe that more races should have access to a muscle slider. Additionally, three subraces would be good for each Race currently in game:

Hyur: Lowlanders
Elezen: Ishgardian Elezen
Miqo'te: Mithra or something to do with Dusk/Dawn or Stars.
Lalafell: Snowfolk (far north Lalafell)
Roegadyn: Far Eastern
Au Ra: Tural based, hornless variant, or something more similar to their original concept art.
Viera: Dalmascan.

I really like those! I had suggested maybe adding 2 additional subraces to each race, but this would already give a lot more variety. And I like that you’ve thought of themes for them.

The nice thing about adding subraces is that it gives more options, without creating a ton of work making the gear fit totally new, unique body types. But one would hope we could get more in the way of sliders across the board. Highlanders get muscle sliders, don’t see why everyone couldn’t. There just needs to be more customization and/or options in general!

I think that they should actually finish fleshing out the existing races before they look to giving us new ones. First get Hrothgar and Viera to the level that other races are at, then maybe add some more customization options to all of the races, and only THEN should they consider adding more races. And this time I would hope that they give us a new race in a fully finished state rather than half-baked as Viera and Hrothgar came.

It's easy for the weebs to call for "no more races" when they already have their 3 cute tailed anime character choices.

tbh i feel like we need ff9's drone (zidane race) as a non gender and maybe moogles/goblins or something to be just as short as lalafell that won't be seen as "children"
