In a fantasy world where CBU3 went back and properly seperated SCH and SMN what weapon would you give SMN or SCH.
Just a bit of a fun post to see what people think would suit the identity of SMN or SCH if you think SMN should keep the tome.

After 100 levels, I doubt they’d change it now… they’d have to retcon a lot more lore than they would to add Levi-Shiva-Ramuh! But if they did, or even just added other options in addition to a book, give me a scepter. (I’d also put Rydia’s whip on the list, but I have a feeling Beastmaster will get that!)
Scholar should keep the book. It's fitting as they're a scholar and calls back to the animations from FFXI that involved summoning a big book.
I don't mind Summoner using books but it's the one where I wouldn't care as much if it lost them for something else. Maybe that weird rod/staff Uriganger apparently had back in 1.x?
Honestly I like that there's both a Healer and Magic DPS with a tome as a weapon.
Might be bias due to tomes being the main weapon for Mages in another game Fire Emblem, and the fact that Summoners technically have different elemental spells at their disposal based on their active summon it suits quite well.
SCH could keep the tomes. SMNs could have wands or like a Focus crystal like item.
Or both! A rod that projects an aetheric whip that changes with your current summon phase! After 100 levels, I doubt they’d change it now… they’d have to retcon a lot more lore than they would to add Levi-Shiva-Ramuh! Just keep the basic weapon animations the same but start adding weapon that look more like orbs or crystals or other magic catalysts. There's no real reason they can't already without changing anything except their arbitrarily restrained modelling of the weapons.
Without changing the weapon time per se, something I'd like to see are cleverer ways to do it, stuff that's not just "book with fancy cover" with the same boring pages inside. There's no reason for example the final stage of the Manderville weapon couldn't have been a tablet with a cover or at least had a touchscreen, if scifi is what they were going for. Or we could have grimoires that look more like fancy scrolls, or a seashell, or a pair of feathery wings with magic runes floating where the content should be... Try and think outside the box.
Also it would be cool if the quill could change.
And also, separate vpose and bstance animations.

I would prefer a staff for SMN, but im ok with the book if they would just make it float next to us instead of be in our hands (kinda like black clover manga/anime)
then they could at least offset the lameness of a book with some really cool casting poses or something..
