Potentially, but Im pretty sure we have had vague statements before about things changing/improving and they all amounted to nothing in the end. I want to be optimistic, but I’m quite jaded now.
While it is extremely vague at least they are aware of the situation and this small paragraph caught my eye:
But as you said it could be lipwork, I personally want all classes to be more interesting.Yoshi-P then reveals that the team will remedy this as Dawntrail and its future updates roll out, "working towards a more fulfilling playing experience" in patch 7.2 and beyond: "We will look to the jobs and we will focus on providing more individuality in the jobs."

Same here. I do not believe him in the slightest. He also said that encounters in EW would give healers more to do, and that was a total lie.

THERE IS THIS PART IN THE TOWER OF BABIL WHERE YOU ARE TRAPPED ON AN ELEVATOR WHILE WAVES AND WAVES OF ENEMIES ATTACK YOU
ITS INTENSE
cut to tower of babil enforced single pulls
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
That's a fair observation. I suppose if this gets picked up further by content creators and/or other media, this would eventually spark a conversation regarding healers and certainly had SE's attention for once... maybe. Unless SE is very keen to keep ignoring the issue and just say "wait til 7.2" or "wait til 8.0". I'm just tired of waiting, you know. You're assuming that there will be enough people taking part in this strike to make an actual statistical difference in queue times. Let's say you get a thousand people, spread out over all the NA and EU data centers. It's just....not going to make a big difference, sorry.
Healers definitely need some attention from the dev team, but this just...isn't going to work. I posted earlier that opening a dialogue on the JP side of the forums would at least get some attention. Flooding comment sections and streams for content creators would get the word out too. But what's proposed here...is just slactivism. Strikes alone don't accomplish anything, especially when people are still actually paying for the service that they are striking.
Like, what's basically happening here is people making a bunch of reservations at a restauraunt and paying in advance, and then just not showing up. Sure, the restaurant may look empty, but...you've already paid for the food. The restaurant isn't actually losing anything.
A strike needs to be accompanied by a campaign to accomplish whatever your goal is. Post on the JP forums. Storm comment threads. Make social media pages, in English and Japanese. Submit reports complaining to SE on their website.
And the biggest thing, *don't stop.* Keep applying pressure, and eventually the company would have to address it. Not something like this which will in all likelihood just be ignored.

it's definitely interesting since they said they wouldn't be looking at it till next expansion. but also... post-dawntrail release is not exactly a precise point in time.

I just want some competent job design along with a mild difficulty curve. Asking for more seems to much right now.
