    Once again supporting this
I need more pants options for my healers and more actually dancer vibe-y outfits for my dancer and bard. So much healer and caster stuff would be great for that.

SE and FFXIV really need to work hard to shake off some of these antiquated MMO ideas. First it was the (now thankfully obsolete) glamour prism nonsense that made a simple system so convoluted, now it's them desperately clinging to the notion of "No BLM should wear armour ever".

Okay, SE - what sense does it make that the Neo-Ishgardian Aiming set has bullet holsters, but aside from MCH, DNC and BRD can also wear it?

DNC and BRD are more 'magical', performer classes and I feel like their gear could more more similar to one-another, but because MCH was here first, the gear needs to fit those two aesthetics primarily, and then DNC is an afterthought. And - mind you - I don't even like the frilly DNC aesthetic, I prefer a more serious, chakram-Huntress vibe. Personally, I think the Healer or Scouting/Casting Neo-Ishgardian armour befits DNC/BRD more than the Aiming one currently.

My idea would be to add an item, call it a Glamour Tablet or something, along with a conversion device (built into the Armoire probably). You place the Tablet + almost any piece of gear in the device, and it gets converted into a level 1, all classes, glam-only piece that lives in the Armoire or the Dresser. This is permanent and irreversible, that is, the original gear piece is lost forever and can never be withdrawn back to a usable item. Nor does it count towards the Dresser's item limit.

The way this works means they could exclude certain pieces from the conversion (job artifact armor), and if they wanted more cash, they could monetize the Glam Tablet (sell a pack of 10 for $7.50 like they do with dyes and add a General Purpose one to Venture Coffers).

That seems like an unnecessarily convoluted and P2W version of simply removing the restrictions. For job artifact gear just keep the restriction and have it give the same error message it does now. I'm sure that'd be possible.

It would be so incredibly tone-deaf if they were to monetize the glamour system in that way.

FFXI, XIV's MMO predecessor, already has fully-unlocked glamouring. The only requirement there is that in order to use a piece of gear for glamour, you have to also be able to equip it normally on the job it's designed for. So as an example, if I want to use a level 90 WHM robe as a glamour on my MNK, my WHM would first need to be level 90. That's it. There is no extra conversion step.

And to clarify as this has caused confusion in the past, this is only referring to the glamour. The gear itself can still only be equipped (as functional gear) by the jobs it's designated for, so no need to worry about a Warrior suddenly showing up in your dungeon wearing healer gear.

NGL, the media tour response was pretty disheartening considering that you can already dress up your Black Mage in full plate for $$$. Not to mention the odd in-game sets that eschew traditional role aesthetics, and of course all the streetwear, bikinis and joke glams that have already been mentioned countless times.

Sometimes I have to wonder, do these developers even play their own game?

Can you tell which boots are meant for healers and which for tanks ?

Well, the ones on the left belong to the "heavily armored" role. This is just one of thousands of similar examples where the reasoning for "immersion" and "class identity" goes out the window.

    Left: Asphodelos Fending set
    Right: Credendum Healing set

The devs: "Preserving the various Jobs' visual identity is very important to us"

Also the devs: "SCH turns into a WHM at level 100(?)"

Well, Plate is inappropriate but this is totally fine, right? Wait we already have plate here too.

But this should be more appropriate for a Healer, right? Nope, I'm a Dark Knight right now

Well, what about this distinguished scholar? JK I've turned into a Dragoon this time

Those aren't even my usual glams for those classes, but that is something totally possible to wear as them.

Others have pointed Full Plate casters that look pretty good, and I'm sure plenty of people have great ideas for things like that. Personally, while it's not what I'm going for, I fully support giving them the choice.

What is so wrong about a healer that looks like this? Caster/Healer sets are often just recolours. But I can't pick it.

And, something that feels even more ridiculous for me, is that the already limited space in the Glamour Dresser (Which, while I can understand that maybe it's not as easy for the server load to just bump up a number, with another Expansion coming up around the corner, that limited space will be even more in demand) has to have several slots taken up like this

Simply because the accessories, which look identical to one another, are also locked as glams. Making us keep repeated items in an already limited space.

I feel like Yoshi-P is clinging to an outdated notion that does not reflect the reality of the current game, and the fact it has been brought up by his team gives me hope that more people in XIV team can see the inconsistency and how arbitrary it is. And hopefully bring him to understand it.

Crafting and Gathering sets also often have great gear that is never seen, which feels like such a waste of otherwise beautiful sets and the dev's own hard work to those.

I fully support still needing to wear it as the base class (Such as needing a caster at 90 for 90 Casting sets, or other such requirements) before you can glam it, if that is a concern.

Keep Artifact Gear exclusive, but please remove restriction from other gear.
