Strictly speaking I'd call Squall's outfit more cloth than leather. Like, yeah, it's a leather jacket and pants, but it's soft leather. Leather armor is boiled to form hard plates.I absolutely understand not vibing with your roles typical attire, just plate mail for casters is the first thing that comes to my mind, haha.
Speaking of classes that could benefit, I main GNB, and by the lore, GNB's don't typically wear plate as the other tanks do, the exact reason slips my mind but I think it's something do with armour not conducting Aether as well as leather and that presumably messes with the cartridges.
So if you do want to go for a slick leather clad GNB reminiscent of Squall, that's also thematic and fitting in game, your options are far more limited as half of all tank gear is plate. Meanwhile, there's multiple aiming pieces that would work perfectly with GNB, the level 60 gear you get for GNB is a aiming set ported right over.
So there's even more arguments in favor of this beyond casters wearing plate, I'm sure you could make some fitting and thematic DNC gear from the abundance of dresses healers have too.
Kicking on the Engine keeping this boat afloat. (bumping)
<time to see if anything that I care enough to converse in, is about>
More so than ever, my friend.
Especially, when Yoshida-san has explicitly stated that it's not a technical issue at all for removing role restriction on glams, they just simply don't want to, or at least not within their current priorities.
Now, all we can do is keep bringing this thread up at front page to stay relevant. Till the day CBU3 change their mind.
Definitely won't give up for glamour's sake! (but what do I know about fashion (looks at fashion report))
It's just funny how the same character that can equip a certain piece, magically cannot wear it when "switching jobs" - the thought of armour just repel itself is just funny to me. The game's selling point is being able to be everything in one character lol
Preach, my friend, Tank in bikini is fine, but Black Mage wearing full plate armor is where Yoshida-san draw the line?Definitely won't give up for glamour's sake! (but what do I know about fashion (looks at fashion report))

Here, another mage in Full Plate Mail, especially coming from WoW, Yoshida-san favorite MMO as he claim.
I don't get the reasoning that Yoshi-P laid in the Q&A. Like, I want to know what he's and his team thinking about Male Characters playing a Striking job equipping Neo-Ishgardian/AR-Caean Velvet top. Why do they come together with an effin' revolver? Do MNKs Thunderclap their target to bang? Lmao...
... it's an improvement compared to however many years ago he answered the question last, I guess, but the fact he thinks he still has a solid argument with his job identity spiel is baffling, has he looked at his own game lately...?
YoshiP please... I just want to use a generic mini skirt that's been locked to healers only for my MNK glam -- it's not even a SCH mini skirt. I just want to make better adventurer looks. The game actually just gets better if glamor role restrictions get lifted.
I imagine theirs discussion about at Yosh P hq. However someone on their team is shooting it down. Could be Yoshi himself. I vote for unrestricted glamour system. Aion did this back in the day when it released. It gave the players some interesting fashion builds.
i need some historical-inspired glam. found some great tailcoats only to my dismay that those are locked behind weaver.
historybounding is already so rare in JP games. i'd say free the role restriction!
