That's not the same as stating outright that they will no longer lock gear behind gender. Because they have made efforts to unlock/not lock gear behind gender does not prohibit them from doing it whenever they decide to make gear have an exclusive appearance in the future.

There is no bad message being sent. Only a false expectation being created based on non-existent principles that the dev team does not have to abide to.

Anyways, I have recently experienced the joy of dressing up my catboy in skirts and I LOVE feminine gear for him. He is flamboyant in style and I would have appreciated if I was given the option to put him in a croptop as I pick up PIC. I'm pretty disappointed that I will not have the option to do that.

side note: people who espouse rigid gender roles as being very important have probably never seen a bird before. We do not need a rigid gendered dress code in this game. Let men be flamboyant and show skin if they want to.

Gender identity has nothing to do with gendered gear, which you would know if you weren't the sort of person to be posting transphobic dogwhistles about mmo fashion. Women being forced into bikinis, frills, and dresses with no alternative is misogyny, plain and simple.

I can kind of forgive them for the DNC top since they're making it revealing on two different body types, but I still think it would be nice to be able to choose or acquire both. The pictomancer one is way less understandable - it's not a redesign to compliment a masc body type they just slapped a lazy cover up on it for no reason other than "male navels are scaaaary" I guess? The pants/shorts thing is just exhausting to me - once again I'm getting slapped with another pair of plain pants to go with all my other pairs of plain pants when I'd rather have shorts and plenty of fem characters would rather have pants. If they're going to make two completely different pieces of gear then it needs to be a choice between them or a toggle.

Lmao I think men should be allowed to wear revealing outfits like bikinis. This is a video game where ostrich-like birds can fly, you can revive people with magic (and also can make an undead person), and fight gods. Is it really out of the ordinary when a man wears a skirt or shows some skin?
It's cloth. Cloth has no gender. There are men who want to show their belly and women who want to cover it. Let them choose.
