New scholar changes are not great

It's not even a commander look. You get given a white hood with a thorny, spindly crown over it, long, ankle high robes, what looks like a waist wrapping corset holding a pair of droopy golden wings to your back.

Makes you look like a sort of religious figure, like a cultist or a nun/priest all with the body covering robes.

This is why I don't get the "Oh it's appropriate because Seraph had been there since the beginning (3.0, but whatever.)
It's a priestly look, coded for chastity and purity. On a military tactician class.

That's why people are saying it makes you look like a WHM. Because it literally does make you look like a priest.

I mean yes, I agree with this as well. It clearly leaned more into priestly stuff because it is on a healer class.

But I still hold that an "angel" fantasy that players might actually want to play would fit far better on Paladin for a number of reasons. Not least of which is the fact that Paladin has kind of been struggling to further develop an identity for itself past Confiteor sword chains.

But the thing Paladin would add to an angel fantasy that Scholar can't is making it a badass. Instead of being an effete nun, a Paladin angel mode would lean more into righteous vindication. Which...may be a bit cliche, but is definitely a popular RPG job archetype and would actually synergize with PLD.

To be clear, i do not think a Paladin angel transformation would look like that. It would likely have a lot of armor and more badass wings, kind of like a mini Alexander.

Personally I would want Innocence's wings only.
In my ideal world this would be a magic phase and we would have the old physical paladin back but thats not gonna happen.
The only thing we can wish for now is that this gets a toggle for scholar.

The main issue with having wings is that it covers a lot of space. Imagine a SMN summoning Bahamut at max size? Don't tell me that a good majority of its horizontal space isn't its wings. If only there's a way to toggle the wings off of Temperance without putting all effects off, I'd want it. For Passage of Arms, it is understandable as the wings isn't there for aesthetics, but it is a way to show the area where to stand.

Whispering Dawn but 3 minutes cooldown lol. Or I guess Neutral Sect+PvP Temperance lmao.

The GCD amplifiers are just a bonus at that point. One thing that really bothers me is how this allows a limited window of pure heal spamming on a friggin' barrier healer. Why are they making the distinction from first place then?
