It just says 'the realm's greatest fighters'. There's no context aside from that to draw conclusions off of.
I would be surprised if the Autarch's authority was limited to a single city.

If the announcer isn't the GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL guy then it's a missed opportunity

Going by previous examples, I would predict it's going to be tournament through the first two tiers (maybe with a few special events threaded in) and then fall apart around R9.

I miss the old 8 man dungeon aspect of BCoB and the small exploration of Alex but hey another set of trials again, I mainly hope they are creative with the design layout and gimmicks so they are fun to replay at least
Sometimes you just got to have Some fun
Initial premise does not interest me...moreso if it ends up being another Omega-style raid with bosses ripped mostly from other FFs.

After reading all of the translations, the goal of the story is the Warrior of Light wants to "become champion" and "be at the top" and is "fixed on" that "one goal". It's a spectacle with an audience (that I doubt we'll see in practice). It will include melee and magic bosses both. The Japanese version says "more intense than the real thing", implying it's not real. However, despite not being real, all languages make it clear that you can actually be killed in these battles.
I think that obviously, since Solution 9 is made of fascades, the Arcadion is all an illusion or simulation or however you want to think of it. Much like the Sorrow of Werlyt extreme trials. However, it's possible it will draw an audience from all over the New World once we beat the MSQ.
In English, it's: The Arcadion
In Japanese, it's: Arcadia, the Heavenly SeatHere at the Arcadion, you'll find a grand spectacle unlike any other. The realm's greatest fighters pit fist against fist and magick against magick, putting their lives on the line as crowds howl and clamor, each clash more visceral than the last. Step into the arena if you dare, and either rise to become champion, or fall forever in ignominy.
In French, it's: "The Arcadion Celestial Championship"The people are in a frenzy. Skill vs skill, magic vs magic, and life vs life clash violently in a battle more intense than the real thing, more spectacular than a play --
The name of the battle is "Arcadia." Adventurers are also caught up in this whirlpool of enthusiasm, vying for the top spot in the arena.
In German, it's: "The Arkadion"Take part in the Arcadion competition, a spectacle more dazzling than any theatrical performance, during which the participants confront each other without restraint, measuring their combat techniques and their magic spells... and above all, putting their lives at stake in a veritable fireworks display of unbridled violence! Only the strongest and the most daring will be able to rise to the top and become the "Celestial Champion". Maybe it will be you, who knows?
InternetThere is a fire burning in every heart. And when fist meets fist, spell meets spell and soul meets soul, it flares up into a true fervor of passion and finally explodes in a firework of energy. There is only one place where fighters and spectators can experience duels of this intensity - in the Arkadion! And so the Warrior of Light is also sucked into the vortex of battle, his eyes fixed on just one goal: to be at the top!
Arcadia is a region in the central Peloponnese. It takes its name from the mythological character Arcas, and in Greek mythology it was the home of the gods Hermes and Pan. In European Renaissance arts, Arcadia was celebrated as an unspoiled, harmonious wilderness; as such, it was referenced in popular culture.According to Greek mythology, Arcadia of Peloponnesus was the domain of Pan, a virgin wilderness home to the god of the forest and his court of dryads, nymphs and other spirits of nature. It was one version of paradise, though only in the sense of being the abode of supernatural entities, not an afterlife for deceased mortals.
In the 3rd century BCE the Greek poet Theocritus wrote idealised views of the lives of peasants in Arcadia for his fellow educated inhabitants of the squalid and disease-ridden city of Alexandria.
Greek mythology and the poetry of Theocritus inspired the Roman poet Virgil to write his Eclogues, a series of poems with references to Arcadia as the home of Pan, pipes and singing.
If it's a tournament arc I want to have a crowd cheering and chanting, booing us when we fail mechanics, hyping up the enemy's ultimate attack, cheering when we win, etc. Like in Paper Mario or Smash Bros.

I hope it isn't a hidden Ascian glyph. I'm so sick of the Amaurotines at this point, more than I ever was of Allagans. That's why I said or less. We don't yet know if they will somehow have extra lore beyond it just being a show for an audience. For all we know, they could have some lore like we got for Omega and the Dragonstar. But so far it obviously doesn't look like it.
For example, OP mentioned about an Ascian mask reference and that could be the "Omega Dragonstar-like lore". But it could just be that it's resembling Japanese kanji a bit and there's nothing to it.
So, we're pre-complaining about a raid we haven't seen based on one sentence of general background description?
