I dislike the fact that all the new gap closers introduced in Dawntrail are essentially the same type, VPR included. Surely they could add in a couple of fixed distance dashes/rolls, or even a few personal speed boosts instead. You could even do an interactable ground effect that others could use to teleport between two spots. You can debate over which approach is the best, but if they're well designed then there will always be situations where they excel.

VPR is looking to have the weakest movement tools out of all of the melee jobs at the moment, being forced to walk away from the target manually. It looks like they felt compelled to add in a lot of gap closers at once but had no ideas on how to do so.
Job individuality and feeling unique is very important, that's for sure. I just feel that only being able to dash to a target feels..."off" for Monk and doesn't fit what the class fantasy is in my mind.
I hate to reference Dragonball, but that really seems to be the fantasy SE wants to deliver on, and they're constantly zipping around faster than the eye can see in that show.
That, and just being able to shoot across social areas is fun as Ninja and Reaper, and I wish Monks could do it too.
