Yes of course, im going to live in the game chasing fates for crafting materials, brilliant design... more like boring design fates are absolutely boring as hell to do, I would rather kill the mobs I need get the items do my thing not do unrelated tasks.
But why am I even expressing this here, there's always those who seem to think unrelated tasks are the answer and because they can do mindnumbing tasks without activating more than 1 neuron they think its all fine and dandy, fates are NOT stimulating gameplay...
I don't understand this.
You find killing mobs (fates) boring, but killing mobs (normal enemies) interessting? And the reason you find killing mobs (fates) boring is that they are to easy? But killing mobs (normal enemies) is not as boring for you? But you need even less "neurons" (as you would call it) for killing normal enemies than for fates. Can you please explain to me why a more boring event is more interessting for you.
No its all boring, and chasing fates is also dull, but I would rather farm the mobs and reliably get the hides/skins I want rather than fate chase, but in all honestly I would rather absolutely prefer another disciple of land job that deals with monster parts/furrs/skins/hides... It would make a hell of alot more sense and the crafting/gathering jobs have been neglected hardcore compared to combat jobs.I don't understand this.

Farm fates solo in 90 areas and buy them.
Are you really complaining about grinding mobs when the devs have put faster methods in the game already. In an mmo of all games where grinds are expected.
If it takes you 15 mins a fate then I don't know what to tell you.
Failing that buy them from mb by getting money from content you do enjoy.
why are you complaining that direct drops from mobs are too low and when people are telling you a much faster way of getting them your still complaining that the solution isn't good enough for you. Just buy the stuff off the market board if fate farming or farming mobs is too much for you. At least it's not like everquest or ff11 or other old mmo games where it has a less then 1 percent drop rate and takes weeks/months to potentially get a single drop. Farming the mobs fate farming or buying off market board are the 3 solutions of getting them what else do you want for answers unless you want the mobs to hand you the skins.

That is when the true Vana'diel of legend will be reborn.
If you are the only one doing FATEs in a zone, it shouldn't be taking 15 minutes to solo a FATE. FATEs adjust difficulty depending on how many people are doing them currently. Less people doing them = less HP boss fates have/less enemies needed for completion/less items turned in for completion. If you are truly the only person doing FATEs in the zone, one should take you 3-5 minutes, tops. That means 7 toad skins every 5 minutes, guaranteed. Don't have to fight toads. Don't even have to do FATEs in Labyrinthos. Not to mention even if you're getting synched down in level doing them, it's just like any other synch'd content. Your level might be reduced, but the stats on the armor not nearly as reduced. If you're geared up, you should be able to clear a lower level FATE easily. Hell, if you're having that much trouble, you don't even have to do Endwalker zones, you can go back to Shadowbringers zones and still effectively get 6 toad skins per FATE. If you're upset about not killing toads...why? What did toads ever do to you? Do you have some sort of deep seated hatred for toads? ...wait...this gives me an idea for a glam! The toad head and some sort of super hero looking outfit, dyed all black. I am the croak...I! AM! TOADMAN!
*cough* Anyway, given how obtuse you're being about the whole thing, I'm guessing you're not looking for actual solutions. You want to complain. Or are trolling. Which is whatever, it's the Final Fantasy XIV Official Forums, that's what people do here, but let's call a spade a spade.
If you are on a rush because you didn't prepare then just buy from MB and shop around servers, these things are dirt cheap as long as its not new expansion release.
If you are not on a rush then retainer farm even if its 15 per hour it will stockpile faster than you think.
Fates are not worth the time just for craft items unless you are also actively working towards unlocking the extra vendors, which you should because it turns the gemstones(specially the SHB one) into gil making machines.
Common crafting materials didn't have a 1% drop rate in EverQuest, only rare magic items from rare spawns. Common items were either all over the place in EQ or you could buy them from vendors directly.why are you complaining that direct drops from mobs are too low and when people are telling you a much faster way of getting them your still complaining that the solution isn't good enough for you. Instead of forcing players to choose between three boring options, the better solution would be for CBU3 to undo the poor decision they made to triple the leather recipe requirements in Heavensward, and go back to the ARR system of 1 hide = 1 leather. Suddenly it doesn't matter as much if you only get a hide drop every few kills.
he/him
This thank you absolutely this, these people saying why dont you just do this are stupid and ignorant that not everyone lives in the game and are apologists to a bad system!!Common crafting materials didn't have a 1% drop rate in EverQuest, only rare magic items from rare spawns.
