    We are getting (at least) one more GCD, the "Eventide" kind of attack that happens after Living Shadow is summoned. Personally I would not want DRK to gain a lot more GCD's because being ogcd heavy is the only thing making it not feel the same as playing Warrior right now. I'd also not like more sustain, having good mitigation and less sustain makes Dark Knight fun. Health is for Paladins and Warriors, we're supposed to summoning the darkness here.

    There could be some cool stuff we don't know about yet, But can't count on too much; Yoshida stated "8.0" would be when tanks gain greater individuality. I'm not sure why the wait for that is so long, but that's when it's happening. For the next three years Dark Knight will be about good as what the balance patch determines for damage per second.

    Having more variety in gcd doesn't exclude DRK from beeing an ogcd heavy job. I also like DRK as a ogcd heavy job in contrast to WAR or PLD. But the ogcd's DRK has rn lack any identity or idea behind them.

    There's only so many attacks a job can have, and the more we put on the GCD the more is taken away from the OGCD. In that light though; they already added 1 GCD which is the "Eventide" attack. We also got three new GCD's in that followup combo from delerium (which replaces the 3x Bloodspiller). So in terms of looking more visually unique and having more GCD's to look at, we got at least that much.

    As for class identy, that is Yoshida's stated 8.0 goal. Apparently Dawntrail is a time when they are "Streamlining" the tanks and not making them more unique than they were. Do I agree with this decision? No. 7.0 should had been the time and not 8.0. All the tanks lost this expansion, not just Dark Knight.

    Only real thing i can say about the DRK changes (That we know of) is that i'm not surprised, but i am disappointed.

    If nothing else i was cautiously optimistic that they would at least fix something regarding issues or pieces of contention, but it just looks like barely anything changed again.
    The wait for 8.0 is going to be long

    That's wrong, thought, those are unrelated and GNB proves the opposite, lots of oGCDs with a high number of GCDs.
    It's absolutely possible to have more GCDs while not reducing the oGCDs.

    DRK has the least numbers of single target GCDs among all tanks only 4. It'll go up to 8 with Delirium and Eventide but effectively it will go up to 5 while losing 3 oGCDs (dashes and merge of BW/Delirium).
    Button bloat is definitely not an issue on DRK in EW and after DT.

    Honestly I thought it looks exactly the same as it does now, so that's how disappointing Delirium has become, but then again I got so numb to the animation just being interrupted by Bloodspiller spam after Shadowbringers launched...

    Having one more GCD doesn't really mean anything when you don't get to use it often.

    This is why goring blade annoys me so much, PLD used to have a interesting flow of GCDs, but it got turnt into a "1 minute you press it!" button which does technically keep pld having the same amount of GCD's but it ruins the flow and usage of your GCD's, Atonement spam only became a issue after goring blade was removed as you didn't press it as much. This is likely true for healer gcds and any "added" gcds, If they don't play into making the combo more interesting or are a proc, then they're usually just very boring "press while burst" buttons.

    Going back to dark knight, a job I think they should add more GCD combos to, does this make the job anymore interesting? No it doesn't, it's a button you will rarely press, downtime dark knight will still be a 1, 2, 3 snooze fest job which is one of dark knights biggest issues, infact the changes ruined the "fun" high apm bursts for a lot of people (I don't really mind personally). Which I think DRK just got slightly more slower without gaining anything is just bad.

    Personally now they've combined the Weaponskill combo into 1 press, I'd like to see them add back in weapon skills and make mix and match combinations, get rid of all the OGCD mitigation buffs and integrate that mitigation into combos.

    God I just hate living shadow. It’s a glorified dot that you press every 2 mins but atleast now you have to save up 50 gauge for it and why in the seven hells does the shadow not copy the moves you do (for crying out loud it’s a “shadow”) while bunshin does or even then why doesn’t it just get cool animations or randomise the ability it does. Can’t wait for the gauge not mattering at all for my burst window anymore as drk. Just random bullshit go even harder, it’s just warrior with extra steps and less sustain
