    I wish AST had an ugly aesthetic so people wouldn't keep demanding WHM with stars. But hey, now that I'm no longer going to be playing it maybe I'll actually get what I want from the class in 8.0, since it seems like they only listen to people who don't play the class.

    The class's last remaining shred of identity has been stripped away completely. Having a bunch of single target healing and mitigation tools meant nothing in EW, and I highly doubt it'll mean anything in DT. If you're going to take away the draw of the most interesting and skill expressive healer and replace it with this tanks had better be getting completely blasted by damage constantly to justify it. But they won't, bc then the curebots will complain that they can't keep up.

    But hey, Viper has a 40s burst window so at least I'll have something to distract me from this abysmal rework. I hope the people who wanted WHM with stars are happy, bc they finally got what they want after expansion after expansion of crying and whining bc they weren't good enough to play the class with the aesthetic they want. I've got no other job to play, nothing is or will be like pre-DT AST, while they had three other healers to pick from. It's just not fair.

    Having dropped AST in EW due to hating the state of it these changes make me hopeful to regain SOME feeling of SB ast cards back. Having every card be damage only was just boring. I do love the higher pacing of the job and it seems we lose that somewhat but we will see. I also like the proactive healing it does compared to whitemage. Hyped to try AST again after hating the EW iteration of it. Stormblood astro is still my fave by far.

    Job mechanics aside, with these changes, what makes this job "Astro" anymore? They no have officially removed everything that deals with constellations and divination. They should have changed the name to tarologian too while they are at it.

    Honestly I think this is fixable. Change 7.0 Draw -> Sleeve Draw. Let it be the guaranteed buffs. Bring back current Draw on a 15-20s timer with RNG cards.

    And keep the 7.0 card effects (PLEASE).

    I'd say the alternative, but I'd rather have this instead.

    I'm tired of being told to wait for post-patches and expansions for fixes and increased healing requirements that are never coming. Healers are not fun in all forms of content like all jobs should be, they're replaced by tanks and dps due to low healing requirements and their dps kit is small for 0 reason, when in the past we had more options and handled things just fine. I refuse to play healer in roulette come DT. I refuse to heal EXs, I refuse to go into Savage, and I am boycotting Ultimate.

    Astro should be really busy and random... the whole reason I chose it as my main job. Let's hope they have not dumbed it down to oblivion, 'cause that's what it looks like right now. (this is my first post in the forums after more than 5000 hours in the game, first time I'm concerned about any job)

    I have to say that I like the 4 card idea every 60 seconds. I think RNG is hell for raiders. We'll have to see how strong the cards are. And maybe the “curative” card is something great. I would say that the devs made a compromise between the RNG system and the SHB/EW system.

    The Astrodyne system is no longer, maybe it's a mana reg ^^

    I had to smile a little today when I read the thread. Every time the AST gets a rework. So many are afraid or confused. I think that we all worry too much. We always have the advantage of our RNG system from before and divination is still there. As anyways we are still DPS boosting.

    No more Astrodyne and no more Range/Melee cards. And no SEAL. YES it was a curse everytime this SEALS. I am glade that they are gone. THANKS to the devs for reading my thoughts. I'm no longer dependent on DF group composition without giving a melee a 3% DPS card.

    For my part, I'm thrilled as long as the effects are consistent. I would like to apologize to everyone who feels like they have been offended. However, I am looking forward and excited about this rework.

    No. Every 60s you'll draw 4 cards. 3 Major and 1 Minor. The Minor Arcana is AoE as always. The Major Arcana appear to be single target still.

    But these fundamentally are not Stormblood cards if you look at what we're getting deeper. They are not cards anymore. You know exactly what tool you're going to get at every specific moment on a strict 60s timer. You know what that is? It's not cards. It's aetherflow but somehow even more restrictive. They look like cards, sure, but they share nothing in common with what stormblood cards were and how they played other than just aesthetics.

    Just because they have different effects doesn't mean they're Stormblood cards. Stormblood cards were interesting bc of how they interacted with eachother, and how you couldn't predict which one you got. There is no fundamental difference between cards that have no RNG and buttons that just say 'do X'. There's no decision making involved, no reacting on the fly. From start to finish you know exactly what cards you have at any given time. The most interesting aspect of Astrologian is dead.

    The third seal is a trap and a meme almost as big as Freecure but for ASTs. It is almost always better to play an optimal card than to fish for a third seal, two seals are enough. Astrodyne was easy to fix, just give back sleeve draw for the third card.

    The actual problematic RNG, that is, Minor Arcana, somehow has still remained. It's useless to plan your healing based on a card that you only draw 50% of the time, so basically you hope for Lord every time. They should not design classes around DF content, which has no dps check or optimization required. The only opinions that should matter are from people that actually play this class in high end content.
