So by your own admission, square can sue Nixon for using a variant of a class that's been in this franchise for a long time. Interesting

Well, that is a matter for S-E's lawyers to worry about. And IMHO, if NIXON sues S-E for that, they'll likely lose. And depending on law department competence, S-E can even turn tables saying they used S-E intellectual property (from FF6) to create the class for its game.

Oh, he's back again. Sigh
If thats the case shouldn't lost ark get sued for summoner
I don't know if they took inspiration from Artist from LoA, but I'm worried about BIG lawsuit coming from Nixon. Since Nixon owns LoA and has been very aggressive about lawsuit before. The only saving grace is that they are in Korea and Square is in Japan so it will be harder for them to sue. I think Square made a huge mistake because Pictomancer is too like Artist... If Nixon sues Square successfully they may need to delete Pictomancer from the game as a settlement, so hold off on leveling it for now... Wait and see.

Stupid bait i can live with
stupider funny baits even better
But painfully stupid bait is where i draw the line

The seas continue to rise while the lesser moon continues to fall, and ilm by ilm, the world becomes ever more unlike itself, without the illumination of knowledge, we but vainly flail as specters in the dark.
There is a lot of prior art to make such a lawsuit moot. Mages wielding brushes have been a staple of Wuxia/Xanxia manhua and donghua for much of the 21st century. Pictomancer as a concept has been intellectual property for Square Enix for nearly thirty years.
By the way, OP, Lost Ark is produced by Smilegate RPG and Tripod Studio. Don't know where you got "Nixon" as the company name.
The South Korean company Nexon produced MapleStory and Mabinogi. Amazon Games is the producer of record for Lost Ark in the West.
why do ppl even bother engaging in post that are only to incite drama, this one was so low effort at that *rolls eyes*
Those aren’t that close actually. You’re just thinking characters holding paint brushes are all the same. Square has copyright lawyers, so stop trying to play act one.
