In FF6, Relm draws the enemies to use the enemy attack against itself. But here you are using paintbrush to make magical attacks, just like LoA Artist, which is why it's dangerous for Square and risky for a lawsuit...
No, there's no lawsuit, because as I mentioned before, there's no copyright for a person wielding a paint brush as a weapon. If that were the case, everyone would be sued to death because real life artists use paint brushes.
It's based of old Japanese folklore.
It'd be like saying Game of Throne risk big law suit for stealing the idea of "Dragons" from Lord of the Ring.
