so what do you suggest SEA players do to not commit address fraud?
That's the problem. Unless SE officially supports their home countries in one of the EULAs, the only way they can play is by committing fraud.

I'm not trying to claim anyone is a bad person for using a fake address or "borrowing" the address of an overseas friend. Gamers have been doing this for games not locally available to them for a long time. I wouldn't be surprised if a large chunk of the NA player base is guilty of doing it for other JP games that are locked to JP only.

But it comes with risks and unfortunately we've hit a situation where the risk finally came back to bite people. I highly doubt that SE wants to be turning away the SEA players but they may be caught between a rock and a hard place thanks to all the card scams that were going on in 2021/2022 and whatever is keeping them from doing business in the SEA countries.

If none of the workarounds that still work for others are options that affected players can attempt, they may have to accept they're not going to be able to play the game anymore.

I don't have a dislike here for anyone except the OP and his massive conspiracy theory.

I'm honestly hoping that something gets worked out that will allow SEA players to continue to play. But there's the real chance that the situation won't improve. That the risk of trying to play from an unsupported country.

    So frauds and scammers.
And if you can't play it. Tough.

    Oh well.
The icing on the cake will be if they cancel my DT pre-order lmao.
    Damn it SE.

Everyone affected is going to be a bit heated.
I'm affected too and I'm in a supported country!

You just gotta do what you gotta do sometimes. People will find a way to pay for service.
I guess some people just don't like being called frauds.
    Weird right *shrug*

I think you probably mean China with this example as they actually require ID/a passport to access, at least in terms of gacha games. I can't really think of any JP based gacha games (or any recent JP games for that matter) that have forced me to verify my identity to play it. QooApp also exists globally to provide access to KR, TW, JP and a handful of CN based games (I forget if Traditional or Simplified is the easier version to get access to) to non-regional players. This is how I'm currently playing the KR version of Persona 5X for example while an English version is still in the works (which funnily enough just expanded their range of accepted forms of payment to include US credit cards and Google Pay (at launch it was just KR based payment methods) so they must be enjoying having people on the West playing their game lol).

When I signed up for the JP version of PSO2 in 2012, I had to give them an address. So of course, I used the physical location of Sega of Japan like every other westerner without an address in Japan.
