The problem is the chasm you have to leap between roul content and Extremes

The problem is the chasm you have to leap between roul content (hardest of which is Alliance and 'Expert') up to then doing Extremes.

When you enter Extremes you are suddenly playing a 'completely' different game (your only small chance is that you've been speaking to the kinds of players who's awareness of game skill comes from the use of certain non-ToS-compliant utilities).

The other problem is marketing, certainly in the English localizing.

'Expert' should not be called 'Expert'.
I've met many people who were needlessly scared off because they had one bad experience in their first foray into content where they are neither (a) massively gear over-powered, nor (b) being carried by a full 3 other experienced players. (maybe just one or 2). Sometimes made worse by other players making comment because they too are only used to all players to be an OP 'carry' level. ("How dare you be in a dungeon without the latest day 1 savage gear! My best friend is actually having to heal your worthless butt!")

So they have no chance of trying '!Extreme!!!', which is also needlessly off putting. I spent years not even considering it because I though oh 'Extreeme', " that's not me... I mean I haven't even done 'Savage' yet!"
I mean I'm not the best player, but I 'can' clear them, albeit with maybe a bit of a carry. But rarely do you get a full carry especially if it's still in the 'high-end' tab.
"By the way Gurgeh, Extreme is easier than Savage"
    "! ??? ...oh..."

    As for doing 'UnReAl!!!!!!!'...
"oh my gosh! I'm not a world first-er!"
    "no... no.. no... that's 'Ultimate'."
("I thought that was the thing I unsynced after ARR MSQ?")

If people so much as KO a few times in a dungeon its mostly shocking. As for if you should ever wipe... people experience crisis. ' what is this? did the game crash?' 'abandon instance!' 'abandon instance!' 'all is lost! There is no hope! Tis the Final days come again!
    ...This is not right.

I'm exaggerating. But not by a lot. All of the above I have encountered more than once.

Aurum vale before they added aoe telegraphic was 'sooo' important as a learning exercise.
Maybe yes get it out of the way of free-trial content at the very least.
Maybe they should have no-telegraph modes, that are applied to latest level 90s(100s) and not disabled until next expansion, to teach you.. .or something I don't know. But Extreemes are such an unnecessary (and overcomable) shock.

(The only thing I never want to see is people suggesting you should go solo if your not good enough. I will immediately report that.)

The other thing is incentivising people to give it a go. When your only incentive is a mount that you need 50 clears for, and you can't imagine yourself clearing once, you now have not reason to even try. "oh I've already sort of done the MSQ version, this is for if you want to mega grind hard core, that's not me, I'm not even going to try
The mount that is awarded for getting 'every' mount, they should just award that getting 1 clear in every Extreme insttead. (Or shock horror another mount instead)
That way people like me will think,
"350 clears that's impossible, but I will try 7 clears"
and you can bet once I've tried my first clear 70% of us will go
"you know... I fancy the encounter mounts too, I'ma keep grinding, this is fun anyway! Maybe I can do this!"

Mentioning Aurum Vale, I remember when they were about to rework it that I was glad that they'd actually add AoE markers notably to Coincounter, as I assumed it would only show very fast at the very end just to give a visual feedback to the player why they got hit and how. Instead, we got full cast telegraphs... /puke

This is why I don't want to play healers in casual content at all - my brain turns into mush.

Coin counter was (and is still) also stunnable so you learned to stun the point blank circles (100ton swing), and let him use his longer aoe gazes (because if he's casting, he's not attacking the tank) and sidestep his 100 ton swipes.

But that was also back when Dragoons had 100 potency attached to their stuns so they were doing them on CD.

Pretty much, yeah. The moment a tank starts wall-to-wall pulling (which is pretty much all of them) it always ends in disaster because I can't keep up, forcing them to do smaller pulls after the eventual wipe, and I just *know* them and both DPS are blaming me for not making the dungeon a successful speedrun. With raids, I'm having to be mindful of where my entire group is at all times because not everyone feels inclined to stay close enough for AOE heals, or they want to be miles away for single heals, and when someone (or several someones) inevitably die, yep, that's my fault too because it's not really right to be expecting the other healer to make up for my shortcomings.

In PVP, nobody honestly expects to see heals coming their way, and probably even thinks its a waste of time when the key to winning is casting spells that make the other people fall down, not make yours fall up.

I'm not much inclined to tank outside of PVP either, because again, it's just kind of awkward and stressful to deal with in other content whereas in PVP you're just a "blue DPS" along with the "green DPS".

Genuinely on the raid front if someone is staying far enough away that they arent getting healed by your AOE heals that is 100% their fault and sometimes it’s worth them dying so that they can learn what an AOE heal is

It sounds like you aren’t actually a bad healer you just instinctively internalise all problems as being your fault and assume everyone is judging you. Honestly most people really don’t mind if a wipe happen, just keep trying, learn new uses for your heals and try different healers, sometimes it just needs a little part to click in your brain then you realise how strong they are and how easy dungeons are

The only healers I judge are the ones that pop a "Swiftcast is down!" macro and then proceed to cast Glare 8 times in a row without moving.

I judge people with cringe raise macros regardless of their job.
