This is not a dialogue between us and the devs, we are not friends or on the same level, we are just customer leaving feedback to a corporation. If you had a bad meal at a restaurant do you go "hey but what about all the other people who liked it" when you leave a review or just say you didn't like it? It's up to the owner to change the recipe or not afterwards. What's so hard to understand?

Hi o/ Not a shill here, I like the Au Ra scales. I've also been critical about all of the gameplay decisions since ShB, and the giant plot hole that Emet Selch created in ShB that no one seems to have noticed.

Find me one person who isn't a SE shill that approves of the removal of Keeper fangs, no Hellsguard nose, botched Viera lip jobs, face 3 male Viera dirt nose, badly upscaled Au Ra scales, female Elezen mouth, and Lala piranha teeth.

Masc viera face 3 haver here and I do like the darker nose, it's one of the few things I do like about the new textures. I was always a little envious of the darker nose on face 1, but face 1 is a bit too stern for my wol.
Everything else you said is on point though, also for a game with so many fantasy skintones in the CC, the new textures and lighting have not been kind to a lot of fantasy skintone users, at least in the benchmark. That and the lip shape changes are my biggest complaints, I think.

Fixing the lip changes, the Au Ra scales issue and some nose smudges here and there sounds like something that can be done by 1 person quickly.

People should still leave their feedback though. The graphics overhaul is being done in stages and will be complete by/with 8.0 (which also includes things such as enabling two dyes for all pieces of gear etc). Even if something isn't ideal when 7.0 releases in a few months, it could easily be fixed in the patch cycle.

One thing I'd like to point is that the default gamma correction is 50 (in the live game and DT benchmark) which completely washes out the colours. Set this to 0 and everything looks much better, especially with the lighting overhaul. Doesn't address everything but looking at some of the screenshots on Twitter/X, the lighting can be really poor at times because of the gamma correction setting (plus that blue background in the character creator is also just a poor reflection of real world game zones).

Based on Yoshi P's letter, some of the issues are either 1. non issues that are already fixed in the game as it will be released (but didn't get fixed in the benchmark zones, which was a failure on their part) or 2. have already been fixed in the built that will be released in DT (but didn't get ported over to the build for the Benchmark, which was a mistake as they have now learned the hard way) or 3. ACTUALLY WERE REAL BUGS and now the QA team has more data to go through and fix before the DT release, which is good!

So to OP's point, no we're not going to stop or radically change the graphics overhaul at this point, but many of the problems noted are going to be fixed in the live game, which is good to know.
