I agree here for some things, lets say that they need to delay to make the seams go away, this is an objective issue everyone can agree on and I'd rather wait X amount of time and have seams for a decade just because we rushed them to release.

On the other hand, lets say its to rollback a change that not everyone agrees with like adding the mouth gap again to Miqo 4, just because some people think it gave it personality and now people who had vacations scheduled to coincide with release have to reschedule their vacations and also cause all sorts of delays down the release pipeline then no, that is unreasonable. Some people considered those flaws that needed to get fixed. And now they are getting put back into the game because unbeknownst to them, while they were celebrating after running the benchmark with their friends and not even checking the forums people here complained and now the game is delayed so they can put the flaw back into the game.

Please don't equate 2D artist using 10 year old faded TP as a reference to 3D artists using 3D reference, it's embarassing. There will be some changes due to higher polycount but that would mostly be reduction in super sharp edges on jawlines and such, not completely a different shape.

Please open your eyes to reality and realize there was minor changes in shape, and anyone with a benchmark can run them and see them, it's embarrassing.

2. "I think your character looks nice" is also quite dismissive because it doesn't help anybody if someone else thinks a character looks nice. The player in question has to think their character looks nice. I also personally think a few benchmark characters look nicer according to my taste.
However telling them will most certainly not make them feel better. It might come across as pretty patronising if someone explains in detail why they are dissatisfied and what changes they have observed only to be hit with "Why do you complain, I think this is nice." when the broader context of the discussion is "It's not that bad/It's not there. You are exaggerating/you have rose-tinted glasses on". That is just another brand of "you are being irrational".
It can also come across like "Now your character looks better. If you like your old one then you have bad taste bc the old one is objectively worse."

I wish more people would be able to grasp this sentiment, even a little bit. It's particularly rough when you're trying to take a go at it from a character designing angle, rather than just making something you personally think is most visually appealing.

Like, man, I personally want my male Miqo'te to remain a little fugly and angry-looking. I want my fem Midlander to continue being mistaken as a boy sometimes. I want my fem Elezen to look a little scary and edgy. I want my fem Viera to look less glamorous and a little sad. I want my fem Xaela to keep a bit of that goofy charm to her face, etc.

Yeah, maybe they look better to some... Maybe they'll fit a more general beauty ideal in the update. I think it's kind of lame, though, and I can easily understand why people have difficulties taking that as reassurance.

It sucks to have your attempt at sympathy fail, yeah, but loads of people keep repeating "reassurance" maliciously anyway because I guess it can also read as a personal slight against them.

I really think studios shouldn't care about people taking vacations for a release.
Not to be rude at all, I did it, and will continue in the future. But that really should not be a concern for the devs.
The product quality should be the one and only focus. Always.

If I asked someone to restore or recreate a piece of art you'd bet I'd be upset if they decided giving them duck lips was an improvement. I told everyone that Au Ra face 4's mouth was puckered out and the corners had dimples added. I finally got to see the mesh in blender last night next to the old one, courtesy of a friend. Oh, look at that, the mouth was stuck out measurably further and a literally dip in the corners was added. That's not upscaling, that's changing what a character looks like, and this announcement validates that. If people liked the new face four chances are high they did not already play face four, and I think the current face four players should take precedence. This goes for every other race. (Wanting their fangs back is not just wanting their gap back because it was cute, mooncats literally lost what made their race different.)

The fact that feedback is being acted upon means that it is, indeed, being seen — on social media and the forums, as cited in the release. While some of my issues extend beyond lighting, I am holding out hope that they kept the response short and sweet without detailing every single thing that they might tweak between now and Dawntrail's full release. Maybe some things like drastic changes in the face sculpts will be looked over and re-evaluated, but at this point I'm just content to know that they are reading what people are saying. So on that token, when 2.0 Benchmark is released, I hope no one is surprised when there is yet more feedback posted here in hopes of being heard.

Mind you sharing some screenshots, or even the models, for me to look at ?
I'm suffering the same trouble, and would love to pinpoint more precisely the problems, especially to explain it to some friends that can't see any difference.
