I'm gonna wager it's the low res hair accessories / additional au ra hairstyle horns and miqote patternsWell I do wonder what the unimplemented high res textures means and how it will affect it.
Right now the benchmark shows me at very high settings comfortably,
Score: 13938 Very High
1920x1080 High (Desktop) DirectX11 FSR Windowed
So obviously unimplemented high res textures will affect that.

Well I just cranked it up to Max settings and ran it again and it didn't drop by much and still has me in the same range.
When I crank it up to Max settings, it still gives Very High.
Score: 12875 Very High
1920x1080 Maximum DirectX11 FSR Windowed
12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700H
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU

So I don't think its gonna kill me on the unimplemented textures.

Does that mean Au Ra puffy lips? Lalafell tiny teeth? Moonkeeper fangs? Those all seem like they'd have somewhat different causes so I don't know if they'd all be the same bullet point about "an" issue with scaling. An Update on the Dawntrail Official Benchmark
Hello everyone, this is Naoki Yoshida,...
2. Issues Related to Certain Data and Processes
A. An issue with unimplemented high-resolution textures, including those for certain playable races.
B. An issue pertaining to special data processes.
C. An issue with necklines for playable races under certain circumstances.
D. An issue with uncorrected scaling for the mouth of certain playable races.

It could cover all of those, but the Au Ra lips are unlikely to be affected drastically by the corrections in the new version. The teeth and the lips are all part of the mouth object though, so if that was scaled incorrectly, everything would show at the wrong size.

The issues people are having with lips goes beyond their scaling, they were remodeled and are just different models. Them saying it's just scaling issues would imply the change in mouth style is intentional and going to be kept.An Update on the Dawntrail Official Benchmark

I guess Mr. Producer din't want to address everything that went wrong in Detail.
But, it's very possible that you are right.
Big this. The mouth dint on my characters face is just unreal, it's not a scaling thing but a model thing
There's some more nebulous statements about scaling and models and textures which could mean anything from fixing 1% to 100% of the non-lighting problems. Who knows and there's zero point in speculating until the new BM comes out, though my no-evidence-gut-feel is this will solve a big chunk but not all grievances.
I also suspect they'll have a team member tasked with welding his ass to a chair reading every post from now until Dawntrail to make sure they get all the feedback. That might mean they are tweaking small items all the way to release so perhaps we won't be 100% sure until we see our characters loading up DT on live. Not much we can do if that is the case but they are clearly listening and trying.

Honestly, this alone would make me have so much respect for them (and I want to emphasise I do think very highly of this dev team, the benchmark hasn't changed this; I can dislike the results and still see how hard they work).
No developer is perfect and I know there are many aspects where people don't feel heard such as class design, content drought, homogenisation etc. (and I think their concerns are valid).
But I do think that Yoshi and his team genuinely care about the player base and communicate with them more frequently and much more respectfully than I have seen it from other game devs.
That I will always appreciate about them.
Lighting changes are great, but as long as the major, actual technical issues are fixed I'm happy (as in texture seams with bald haircuts, bald heads still being low-poly, hairstyles and tattoos clipping into the head, texture artifacting, etc)
I wouldn't expect most of the complaints about subjective or very mild changes like the contours of a specific set of lips being slightly tweaked to be addressed, and I would prefer that they focus their efforts on more pressing matters anyways.
Change will naturally not sit well with every person, but hopefully the lighting improvements and fixes will make some of the disappointed folks happier with their characters.
