



Not gonna lie, in the long history of jobs stealing from others with literally no reason, SCH stealing AST's literal canon identity of being a time mage would be hilarious (and sad).
Not sure it's "time related" necessarily. The cogs start turning as the spell "activates" so it doesn't read as a "slow" or "stop" spell. It does read as an "expand mechanic"? Maybe we're given back "bane" in the form of this, a deployment tactics for our debuffs?



I mean, there are so many stapled on to the amalgamation of confusing job identities that is SCH, that why not, why not make it time mage too.




I mean SCH is specifically designed as a messy amalgamation class, that’s its entire identity, when you are a field medic on the battlefield you don’t discriminate about what tools can give you and edge
That’s also why I don’t agree with the point above about remaking SCH and focusing it on the fairie, SCH isn’t a fairie mage, SGE’s absolute lack of creativity to the point they just copied the aetherflow system doesn’t really justify deleting it on SCH, I honestly think the fairy has become too heal focused, SCH used to focus on yourself healing whole the fairy focused on support, besides embrace 80% or so of SCH’s old healing came from the SCH themselves
Giving SCH an “identity” as focusing on only one of its multiple aspects ironically actually removes its identity
I don’t really see a slow debuff as outside of SCH’s range since it’s more debuff than time magic
Embrace and Whispering Dawn is more than enough direct healing cooldowns for the pet. I agree, the pet should have abilities that buff the SCH and a few raid-wide utilities/offensive attacks. Though to say that its identity is chaos, that's where I don't agree. It's not that it's messy or anything. I consider the pet as a resource that needs to be managed. Before, when it can still take damage and gain enmity, you have to consider where it is placed or else, you will lose access to its utility/healing. With the current iteration, you just summon it and it will do its own. So SCH, in general are masters of managing multiple resources and tradeoffs.

Shadowflare used to inflict slow so I guess that's commendable of them for attempting to bring that back to some degree... if that's even the case.
But at this point I just feel that slow should've been AST's thing.
I am actually reviewing the entire Alexander raids since the new SCH with all the cogs, reminded me of it.

There's a difference between stealing a similar ability and being a near 1 to 1 copy like scholar and sage are...
I would like a full scholar rework, but they're not going to do what I would want for the job, so I'd at least like them to remove the jank skills, useless spells, and strange interactions.
Just a few things:
Dissipation giving you aetherflow, but doesn't increases skill potency. Not to mention that if you needed the healing you probably used soil, indom, and excog already so it's really 3 lustrates or 3 energy drains.
Seraph locks you out of union and blessing. Will also still ghost your abilities.
Recite doesn't work on lustrate and to a lesser extent soil.
Ruin 2 still using the arr animation. It deserves an upgraded visual.
Manual detonation on excog for when your tank is at 51% and dies for it.
Physic exist
Energy drain should hit in an aoe
Having no aoe option for faire gague
