    If you are going to split up the DPS jobs, you should at least split it up for the healers, shield and pure, like SE seems to want to do. Even better, 4 casting healers and 0 non-casting healers.

    To be absolutely fair, you go with DF requirements. Tank, Healer and DPS. It doesn't separate by sub-types for DPS when you queue.

    Exactly either you split then by the pre EW design

    -tanks, healers, melee, physical ranged, magical ranged (4, 4, 5(6), 3, 3(4))

    Or you split them by EW’s design

    -tanks healers, melee, ranged DPS (4, 4, 5(6), 6(7))

    Or you split them by “job responsibilities”

    -supports, DPS (8, 11(13))

    At most favourable to melee DPS they are slightly underrepresented against collective ranged DPS if you take the EW design, at worst they are grossly over represented against everyone else in all other scenarios

    Melee having unique gear types should not at all factor into the fact we already have more melee jobs than any other role in terms of getting even more jobs in the future
