Why should those players have to undergo change by having what they earned taken from them when you are not willing to change yourself? There are plots available yet despite statements that you want a house badly, you're not willing to make the change needed to get one.

When my spouse and I decided to go big in housing by transferring to Dynamis when it opened (giving away a medium FC we had on Faerie to a friend when we did so) everything we did in the game became focused on that goal.

We spent uncounted hours making the literally hundreds of millions of gil we thought we'd need. We spent even more hours leveling alts so we could form the FCs we'd need and place multiple bids on our target properties. We researched the names of the new world, and determined -- based on the lore associated with those names -- that Maduin and Marilith would probably offer the best opportunities. And then we transferred, and continued grinding gil and alts until the first auction.

End result, prime large sites on Maduin and Marilith. Later, we picked up adjacent smalls. Even later, we established FCs on Hali and picked up houses for them. Eventually we picked up some personal smalls, since they were there and we had gil leftover. Even later we abandoned half our personal houses because they were too much hassle for the incremental benefit.

All of this took work and a willingness to do what needed to be done.
We earned our houses.
So we have little to no sympathy for the people who think they are entitled to one.

I noticed a year ago that Bismarck was lacking and decided if they still had it open in a year I would expand there. Now I've got a set of new themed experiences to enjoy with my loved ones and FC mates.

The fact that you gave people a whole year to get the houses they wanted before buying up more for yourself is very kind. It makes the people complaining about the "unfairness" look like clowns lol. Those houses would take up server space whether you bought them or not and the only difference is that you are funding further development of the game by paying 9 subscriptions to own the houses you own.

As a note to the salt lords that will be reading this: Housing is fun and amazing and if you guys that are apparently "dying" to get a house refuse to do what that actually takes and get one on these unfilled worlds, then don't be mad at those of us who love housing enough to do it.

I don't know if they have the self awareness to stop being mad at the results of their own choices. Can't wait to see more tear-stained screenshots of housing empires on dead worlds and read the complaints about "greed" and "loopholes" from complainers who have no characters on those worlds.

There's still quite a few smalls that no one wants on even populated servers in the FC ward, really want them to allow privates to buy those. There's like 4 in my ward alone, and my server is "congested".

I had 2 open houses in my ward in Excalibur, For about two months only one person bid n never claimed. Eventually, 2 players did come along and buy the plots. However they remain undecorated unused and just sit there.

The housing shortage on the forum isn't reflective of that in-game. Supply isn't meeting demand but players are also Choosing to be picky And rather have nothing and complain about it then getting anything and upgrading it later.

There’s another of my dream plot up this round, so I’ll put in a bid whenever I get on tonight… at this point, I just expect to lose. lol thankfully I have my second favorite plot, so that takes some of the sting out of the continual losses!

Is the plot a specific location you've been trying to get? Enter immediately since you're going to regardless. The higher the entry count is, the more likely it is to deter competition that isn't as picky.

Are you trying just to get a house, any house? Wait until the last time you will log in before the entry period ends so you can find the plot that has the least number of entries and improve your chances.

If the competition is low, like on an empty server or a fresh ward release: bid early to discourage other's bidding on the same plot as you. If there are 7 people bidding on 5 plots, you want to make your bid #1. Then there is at least a chance that the last 2 players place their bids somewhere else. Whereas if you wait to be the last, then you guarantee that someone else has already bid on the same plot as you.

If the competition is high and you want to maximize your odds: bid late to make sure you can tell which plot will end up with the least bids.

If you are going for one exact highly desirable plot regardless of other people's bidding behavior, bid whenever. You want a large and there is only one large available this round? Nothing you do will make a difference because all the other people going after a large don't have alternatives either.
