MEGATHREAD: Requested Hairstyles & Facial Hair

Beards are always possible. Clive does have it because it is an unique NPC model.

The problem, at least to what it seems on surface, is that current character models are limited in the number of 'customization slots' that aren't hairstyles or face paints. Why I say that? We got the stubble people asked for so long in one race.

Yet, when you go through it, you realize that in order to do that, they had to duplicate one of the midlander male faces and have the stubble permanent. Why they would do all that if the most logical way would be just to add the stubble as an option? Because all of the customization slots for face features are full. Imagine if they deleted the 1.0 tattoo for that lol.

I'm all for more and cohese customization options for everyone, but I feel that they need first to improve the foundations of the character creation, which is not something the graphics update will do. IIRC they vaguely mentioned they'd look into this in the future. When? Who knows...

With all that said, I wonder how/why Midlanders can have 7 face options and everyone else is stuck with only 4. Unless it greatly stresses the servers or coding, I'm sure a lot of people would like whole new face models to be added.

PS: I haven't seen anything about it, but I'm praying to the Twelve the graphic update gives Highlanders eyebrows at last...or at least make the face paint not look so smeared so we can pretend they're eyebrows.

If SE hasn't mentioned it, it's likely not in the works
It'd have to be something that gets alot of support; I've only seen such things pop up on occasion - while it's an obvious want by many players
Why should Cid have a full beard AND eyebrows??

I also hope facepaints are cleaned up, we haven't seen anything about it.

They also said they'd look into increasing item slots for housing and making ward specific house cosmetics actually customizable but that hasn't happened either & it's been radio silence since.

I obviously can't speak for the developers on this but I think it might have to do with the fact that midlanders don't have any of the extra features that other races have that would take up the limited data space allocated for them?

I'd rather hairstyles fit closer to how the racial hairs for Viera fit, it looks more natural and closer to the brow- instead of leaving a huge landing strip of a forehead

The number of midlander (more numerous) options seems something set when they made the game, probably thinking of midlander as the 'most popular' for some reason.

I'm not sure why we couldn't get more face 'kits' through the years, though. I don't really count the Midlander male 7 face because it was really a half-assed way of implementing a stubble on the face model they use for the WoL, because they could just made a brand new face for that, if that was the case.

As for eyebrows. I think that can be in the realm of possibilities, since face paints are textures. Hopefully indeed it gets contemplated without an 'airbrush' feel.

In the future, I'd like to have more Masculine male hairs- no more k-pop boyish hairs.
I understand that just because a hair is meant for male characters or is more male oriented, doesn't mean any of them look good. Having ugly hairstyles isn't something to look forward to & is frustrating to deal with if the character you envision isn't in anyway attainable.

Also, when will male highlanders have eyebrows? If new faces need to be made in order for them to have an actual selection of eyebrows then so be it. There is no lore reason than can be accepted as to why they can't have eyebrows by now. Maybe come DT & after? But I really believe there needs to be more push for such changes.

Same goes for feminine hairstyles; so much of the hairstyles we have are shoulder length & cutesy, looking like it belongs on a younger, adolescent character & we lack many mature feminine hairstyles.
I want to see in the future more Feminine long hairstyles, no more cutesy, or ugly 1-hero bang, no more shoulder length with some random silly braid.
I want to see long wavy hairstyles. Long fishtail & french styled braids, long maiden like hair. People can complain about clipping, but I personally don't give a crap about hair that clips. I'd much rather have long hair that clips than some childish looking hair or some ugly mullet.
I'd also like some decent pixie cuts and more diverse hairstyles like dreadlocks that don't just fall in your face.

If they're gonna give us short/medium hairstyles please have variety on them, they don't all need bangs (some hair strand(s) on their foreheads).
