Why does the offical SE store GOUGE on prices and shipping so much???

Gotta get that quintuple-dip going. Add it to the pile with purchase fee, sub fee, retainer fee, and cash shop. I had wanted to buy some of those job crystal magnets a couple years ago, but then when I saw they were charging $30 to ship a few ounces of plastic I NOPE'd out of the deal.

In the US, customs don't need to be paid for purchases under $400 I believe, and that's per transaction, not yearly or monthly.

I'm not talking about SE, I'm talking about people ordering stuff from overseas. Most Americans won't see customs fees for such low purchases.


Of course businesses will pass those costs on to the customers.

Plus, for shipping, the SE store is likely too low a volume to get any real discounts from shipping companies. Hence the prices.


Lego can ship me a 30lb set at no cost to me, but I ship a 22lb computer to a friend and it was $90.


Its all economies of scale and capitalism.
