Major adjustment to housing

Actually, I speak for alot more then myself. Even a majority of those of us who been around since the start or like myself (9 years) would love to see this change.

Generally the people against it are the ones who hold multiple properties that sell them for absurd amounts (last look...fcs were ranging from 250mil for a small to 1.5bil for a large) or are merely holding onto them but not playing.

A real change in the system needs to be done and the ToS part made me laugh cause if the alt loophole was supposedly allowed, they wouldn't have made it so a new member has to be in the fc 30 days before they can take it over.

They know very well that people are gaining fcs well beyond what the rules since stormblood are imposing. Anything before...whatever. ppl got lucky they decided to grandfather those in.

Not sure why people got a problem with change bit I feel most of the ones against it I'm this topic are the same ones holding multiple and selling them off. In alot of ways I pity xbox players. They got no chance at housing.

Yet no one came to this thread to support your suggestion that people should pay an increased subscription, that houses should be taken away from players on Dynamis or that all houses in the game should be deleted.

It was never meant as a fix for people using alts to get multiple houses, it was meant for a fix to curb house reselling which didn't work.

Honestly I don't think they need to do anything so drastic, just add more wards.
The 6 wards added a year ago helped a lot, just keep doing that. Add more wards, go into the hundreds if they can and must.

Why should I be charged an increased subscription just because you're unlucky and salty?

I was bidding every week for almost a year until I won my Mist Medium.

Server resources are not infinite, they can't just add 100's of wards to the game and expect the servers to play nicely.

On the instanced housing note, I doubt it'll ever happen on a grand scale. It would mean scrapping all the work SE have done on the housing areas and I doubt they want to do that.

I think it may appear in forms of upgradeable apartments but we will never get true instanced housing.

They don't have to scrap anything. I don't understand why people think it's an either/or situation.

Most of housing is already instanced. It's only the outside areas in the wards that aren't.

Increase the interiors to at least mansion sized if not bigger. Change the stale interior walls into a choice of outdoor backdrops with collision planes so players can't go outside the intended boundaries while in the instance. Give us building furnishings to choose from to create our "house" or whatever it is that we want. Add true XYZ placement that third party mods already give those who use them. Create a portal to access these instances just as we enter our apartments at the apartment building entrance.

There's "true" instanced housing right there. Certainly there's room to improve on it from there but the lack of those additional improvements wouldn't make it any less "true" as housing.

And it opens up so many possibilities, both in terms of design and functionality… as well as the possibility for multiple homes without diminishing an already limited supply. I’d certainly like more canvases to decorate! lol but mainly I want to see the good system we have made even better with the amount of customization an instanced system could provide. Especially my yard, limited to only 20 slots, which probably won’t be increased when the inside item limits go up, because the outside isn’t instanced like the inside is.

Reality is; if they fixed the need for people with multiple FC's to condense the workshops this would remove the "sub FC's" issue almost entirely; as many sub FC's are not decorated and giving a Sub runner the ability to handle their fleet from 1 workshop rather then hoping through alts; I suspect many sub fcs would jump at the opportunity. Aside from that another 6 or 10 wards to each district would likely cover the capacity needed. Even in its current state we are seeing plots available in places like Balmung. If we can break down the Total number of bids in a worlds lotto system we can determine roughly the demand for housing on that world.

Of course I say that...but then folks will whine they did not get the specific plot - long story short people get frustrated when they don't get EXACTLY what they want; so they start with a generalized complaint (eg there is no housing) and gradually specify as their demands are met. Its kind of a dishonest way to request something. The OP unfortunately seems to have a specific agenda in mind and wants to punish the existing successful player base which is probably a non-starter. That said there are limits to resources but some of those resources do need to be optimized; as someone who has a alt on Oceania I can assure you there is housing if folks want it; but its not where they want it.
