But the answer is the damage is reduced after the debuff expires, so you’d want to apply reprisal right before the timer ends. Reprisal snapshots the same way as any other mitigation, so if you want to test it, use hallowed ground when the mob applies the debuff and see if the damage is reduced to 0 when the debuff expires. And yes, reprisal works on damage from the debuff as long as you apply it to the mob that cast the debuff.

The boss is a mob. Let me give you an example. In T10 you fight imdugud, a boss that applies a similar prey marker mechanic. If you apply reprisal to imdugud before the timer on the prey marker expires it will reduce the damage from erratic blaster. At certain intervals imdugud summons sons and daughters of imdugud and one of them applies a prey marker to you. If you were to use reprisal on imdugud it will obviously not reduce the damage from erratic blaster because it was one of the adds that applied the prey marker. You would need to apply reprisal to the correct add.
